Definitely works!
What I notice about this product in comparison to Lancome skin care products I have used consistently for the past 2 decades. After the 3rd use I can notice the change. The best way to use this, lather and put on your skin, face, neck, hands, ect... let it stay on for 2-5 minutes than gently remove with water leaving a light residue of the product on the skin. Now in my opinion this is the important part. With a light layer of the product left of the face, using your fingers rub up/down & circular motion on your skin like your rolling off dead skin. This is the top layer of the dead cells that causes wrinkles, sunspots, dark spots, dryness. Again, when I initially rinse the product, I leave a light layer of product on my skin to make it easier to rub & exfoliate the top dead cells on my face, neck, hands( I also used it on my elbows, knees & armpits, 4 bars for $20 is a great deal & I'm willing to buy more since I had awesome results). What I learned about skincare as I get older especially on my face. It's constantly being exposed to environmental elements, sun damage, make-up, my pillow, hard water. By exfoliating my face once a week with a good moisturizer( I used Lancome Absolue Rich or Soft Cream $280 or coconut oil. Dont use a moisturizer with alcohol or Parfums cause it will irritate your skin). It's important to moisturize afterwards cause this product just removed dead cell skin & moisturizer is key! At 45 my skin looks amazing but I had these light sunspots and dry dead skin that causes aging. Not super noticeable but noticeable to me on my cheek bone area and around my eyes. I not only focus on my face but my entire body especially the neck and hands cause those are the areas women tend to neglect and are aging giveaways with sunspots, wrinkles. Also I'd recommend doing this at night before bed to allow your skin to heal vs. going out in the elements wind, sun, humidity and exposing your newly clean sensitive skin to damage causing activities. Again my opinion simply because this bar soap removed the top layer of skin leaving the underlaying of skin, the soft, sumple, fresh layer of skin that gives you the glow & youthfulness we all want. Also I know this is weird but don't do it around your menstrual period time. Why? As a women our hormones are crazy and I know I break out around my chin area. You definitely don't want to irritate your skin while your hormones aka acne period are the cause for a short time of the month. This can cause bacteria around your pimples, break & scratch the skin, leaving scars or marks. Again my own opinion but it works for me cause my hormones cause me to have acne plus I have Lupus and I get butterfly like rash on my face over my nose bridge & cheeks Hope my review helps but definitely a good buy!

Great for evening out skin tone and Sun / age spots
Soap is the bomb! It's a little hard to get it to soap up, I suggest slicing small pieces and keeping the piece in a small plastic container and using a silicone scrubby for your face. You want to leave it on for just a very short time, I'd say less than 30 seconds. Then quickly rinse with cool water. It actually does work it fades sunspots. Works better than retinol.

It works with acne
I really like this product! It smells so good and lasts a long time. It has helped with my acne a tremendous amount and it has limited my scarring. One thing I will say is follow the directions. It said to immediately wash the soap off and I had it on for a minute and my skin started to peal. Once I started washing it off immediately I never had an issue. Out of all the soaps I've used this one makes me feel clean.

It actually works
Amazing face soap. It foams up good and my face feels so soft after I wash it. It's already removing and lightning my age spots. I use the TirTir rice milk toner with. Great results

A cautionary tale…
I would give 5 stars for how effective this soap was, and how quickly I noticed an improvement in the appearance of my dark spots—bonus: my face felt so soft and clean without being irritated at all. The bar smells pleasant and rinses off easily. I wanted to love it, and I really did. However, I had read something, somewhere in the information/instructions, I think, about using the bar quickly and minimizing your skin’s direct contact with it; this indicated to me that this kojic acid was not a product you could, say, leave on for a while and rinse off later. That got me wondering and a bit concerned, so I looked online to read more about kojic acid. (For what it’s worth, I always ,<olook at multiple reputable sources, sites that give information without having a stake in the issue at hand (like trying to sell an alternative or something). When I see the same information across a number of sites, then I take it seriously. What I found online was that kojic acid is classified as an “endocrine disruptor.” Right away, I knew I had to stop using it, and I was so saddened— it was working so well for my face! But I’m a survivor of a *very* aggressive ER+/PR+ HER2- breast cancer, and although the phrase “endocrine disruptor” was vague (in that I saw no specificity about exactly what was disrupted, nor how so), I reached out to my oncologist about it, and she immediately told me to stop using it NOW. I actually already had, but it hurt my heart to have to throw away 3 pristine bars and 1 barely-used one. I didn’t feel right offering it to any of my friends, though. Ultimately, I give it 3 stars. It works, but at an unknown cost, which is too rich for my blood! Bottom line: Please don’t assume (like I did) that a product is safe & worry-free just because it is highly recommended and has high ratings & good reviews. Make sure that whatever ingredients you use to solve one problem, don’t wind up causing other (and potentially way worse!) problems. Thanks, all, for reading. Be well, everyone!

Seems to work surprisingly fast and feels great to use
I’ve only been using this for a short time, but I’m honestly surprised by how quickly it seems to be working. It’s very easy to use, feels good on the skin, and has a pleasant, clean scent. It doesn’t feel harsh or drying, and the bars seem like they’ll last a good amount of time, which makes it a solid value for the money. So far, I’m really happy with it and plan to keep using it.

Love
This works. It can make skin a little dry, but not as bad as a regular soap. Notice lighting of spots and overall better skin , even after first use. Try it!

An educated consumer will avoid the trap
After using this product for several weeks and not seeing any reduction in dark spots I decided to research the ingredients of this soap. Now dermatologists say you can use Vitamin C and Retinol together but there is a caveat to that. It seems that Vitamin C by itself should be used at least 30 minutes prior to using Retinol to allow for proper absorption in the skin, while there is an ongoing debate that it should be used in the morning and Retinol at night. You are not allowed that option with this soap as these are combined together. Valery Aparovich, a certified cosmetologist-aesthetician and biochemist said "The risk of incompatibility depends on the percentage of these ingredients in product formulations. Generally, an optimal potency for vitamin C is 10 to 15 percent, and a baseline of 0.5 percent for retinol." Those percentages are not listed on the soap. (Why not?) Dermatologists also stipulate that Vitamin C and Retinol are safe to use together UNLESS you experience irritation. This is where it gets intresting. At least for me anyway After using this soap for several weeks, I started experiencing that irritation that Dermatologists warn about. Small red cracks began appearing on my forehead and by the crease near my nose. Blackheads were never washed away and looked like they were worsening albeit there was a kind of bleaching of my facial skin tone making it lighter but the dark spots and hyperpigmentation remained making me look worse. Then, as if by magic, I started noticing wrinkles and lines forming so fast I started to panic. OMG this soap will age you quickly, so you better make sure that you have a very good moisturizing cream to apply afterwards to try and control it. I say very good because the Ive St Laurent collagen and elastin moisturizer that I used with good results for years seemed too weak to get the job done. The crow's feet remained and got deeper, and lines started forming going down my face vertically like tears would, from my eye areas, my moisturizer was just barely holding it at bay and then for only several hours before they would start to reappear. I'm still horrified. If you use this soap, I do not recommend leaving it on your face for any length of time, other than the time it takes to wash your face quickly. It does say to rinse immediately so the manufacturer is aware of the adverse results if you allow the soap to stay on your face like you would with regular soap. Do not try to get excess lather from it on your face and make sure you use a very good moisturizer immediately after drying off or you will see yourself become old right before your very eyes when you look into the mirror. Understanding that, I still have the dark spots and hyperpigmentation problem and have decided to switch to the Koji San Kojic acid soap available here on Amazon which although smaller in size and a little pricier, does not have a Vitamin C-Retinol base. I am hoping that this soap will be the facial stain killer I'm looking for as there are no contraindicated ingredients like this one has. I will probably review it by May 2024 for those who follow me, to give the two bars time to work. Update 11/27/25: Even the Koji San Kojic acid soap didn't get rid of the dark spots. However I have had some better success taking microingredients multi collagen peptides and using tea tree body wash on my face. Just saying....
