I had an older Aukey dash cam sitting around that I was too lazy to install in our old Sienna. The Sienna is now replaced by a 2021 Outback (new to us!). Searching subaruoutback.org forums, various mentions were made of a different brand, but since the awesomely (!) named YQMAJIM brand popped up for less and shipped sooner, this brand and model it was. Figuring I had 30 days to return it if it was crap, it was an easy impulse purchase to make. Name aside, the package includes much more than expected. A pry tool, spudger, zip ties, the three USB adapters (C, mini, and micro), and a voltage display LED for the second connector in the main unit itself. Installation was so simple, just pry off the cover to the auto dimming rear view mirror, disconnect the cable, install the adaptor, including in my case the mini USB adaptor, removing the voltage LED from the second connector (read 13-14V in my case), and slowly but easily push the wire assembly up into the eyesight cowling, and put the cover back on the mirror connection. The mini USB cable easily fit in the Aukey camera and works fine. I'm too lazy to post photos or video, but installation was much easier than expected, taking more time to just mount the camera than install the YQMAJIM adaptor. Contrary to some Youtube videos, the plastic Eyesight cowling does not have to removed. The wires are small enough to fit in the generous gap of the cowling, and I felt no resistance while pushing in the wires. In three months of use, no issues to report. The camera seamlessly records as set, unobtrusively running in the background, powering up and recording without interaction from me. The power is only applied while the engine is powered up, so it is not for a continuous always on camera system. Highly recommended for 2021 Outback, fitting perfectly with the powered rear view mirror.

I had already wired in my dash cam from under my dashboard, but I always preferred a solution that didn’t require running a long wire past where the airbags were. I came across these adapters but didn’t find one that was obviously for my vehicle, so I reached out to YQMAJIM and they quickly replied. After some back and forth with them, including me sending photos of the connectors in my mirror, they identified the correct product. I ordered it, installed it today, and it is working fine with my Garmin Dashcam Mini 2. The adapter is compact so it easily fits next to where it plugs in, and it was was very easy to install. The hardest part was just working up the courage to take apart the housing behind the mirror, but it turned out to be just two plastic parts that easily snap on and off. They include multiple power cables in the box for all the popular USB dash cam connector types, and they also wired in an extra tap to you can always plug in another USB adapter later - which their instructions say they will provide if you just ask. Overall I’m very pleased with this and hope it works for a long time! P. S. I also had a similar interaction with a different manufacturer of a similar product also sold here, but they were unable to figure out which adapter I should get.

This YQ Majim dashcam 10p typeB adapter worked perfectly on my 2022 Toyota Sienna XLE. No instructions provided, but it was straighforward. First pull off the small cover plate over the mirror stem starting from the top. Then push down the cover over the TSS forward camera. The adapter plugs into the rearview mirror power. They supplied a tiny voltmeter to check that the 12v power before plugging the mirror back in. There is enough room inside the stock cover to hide the adapter cables and the 12v to 5v USB adapter. The adapter has a second connector which could be used for a second dashcam or a radar detector. Easy install and looks professional.

This hardwire kit for my dash cam came exactly as described, and the installation instructions were clear and easy to follow. Instead of tapping into the fuse box, this adapter is designed to draw power directly from the rearview mirror wiring harness—ideal for vehicles with powered mirrors, rain sensors, or built-in auto-dimming features. This setup allowed for a clean, OEM-style installation without needing to run wires down to the cabin fuse panel. Initially, I thought the kit was incompatible with my vehicle because the dash cam wouldn’t power on. However, after some troubleshooting using the included volt meter, I confirmed that power was present at the rearview mirror connector. This led me to suspect a faulty buck converter. When I received the replacement, the LED indicator on the converter lit up immediately and the dash cam powered on without issue. With this kit, I was able to neatly conceal all wiring within the headliner, resulting in a professional-looking install. For the price, this is a convenient and cost-effective solution that improves both the functionality and appearance of any dash cam setup. I’d definitely recommend it—just be sure to test the buck converter before finalizing installation.
