Works if you use it as instructed
So duckweed is an absolute pain and just seems to multiply no matter what. Thought I’d try this and it really works if you use it properly. As others have pointed out, that means getting rid of as much duck weed as possible (I certainly got most of it, but not all the stuff buried in the pond plants). Yes, that’s a pain to do with a net and bucket, but essential. Despite the on-pack suggestion to repeat after 7 days, my first dose has left the pond completely free of the duckweed after 3 weeks, so for once I’m impressed with a Blagdon product.

TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY
I recently carried out a blanket weed removal and got 100% success in 10 days . (using Blanket weed product!) I can follow instructions (Blanket weed proves that) This stuff does not have any effect on the duckweed, I cleared the pond with a net, applied and as per instructions reapplied. Then overdosed deliberately and after 3 weeks the Duckweed is THRIVING, my tiny pond is only 400 Ltrs not gallons like many of you have so if my little pond cannot be cured I wish you well, but would recommend finding a product that has more 5 stars ratings than this AWFUL waste of money item. Sadly a zero star rating is not an option on this site, one star is by far too high a rating perhaps minus 10 would be better.

Don't believe the negative reviews - this works very well.
This stuff is very effective but the negative reviews put me off to start with. I guessed from some of the comments that the critics weren't using it correctly so I thought I'd take a chance and give it a go. It's brilliant! You really have to abide by the instructions. It is not a Duckweed killer. If it was you would be saying goodbye to the flora and fauna in your pond. It changes the environment in the pond so that Duckweed can't prosper and so dies out. You need to remove the Duckweed first. That's not too tricky. It requires a hose to blast the weed away from pond plants and push it so you simply corral it and scoop it out with a net. It took me and the missus an hour or so and we got 90%+ out. We added the Duckweed buster and just let nature take it's course. Afterwards, we carried on scooping out any Duckweed we missed until there wasn't any left. A few weeks later and Zero Duckweed now and the pond looks great! Fish and frogs are fine so all in all I'm a happy bunny. Remember, this is not a Duckweed killer - follow the instructions and it'll work for you.

Does not work.
My little wildlife pond is in a shady corner of the garden. At the start of the year it was complete covered in duckweed, so much so that you couldn't see the water. First of all I gave the pond a clean out, getting loads of detritus from the bottom and netting off as much duckweed as I could from the surface. Then I added some pond weed. I'd read the mixed reviews and decided to put in more than specified. The pond is about 80 gallons so I put enough in to treat 200 gallons. Each weekend I added a top-up enough to treat 100 gallons. Maybe it slowed the regrowth, hence a generous 2 stars, but it certainly ain't busted it. There is more duckweed now than when I started the treatment. See photos of how it has progressed over the first month of treatment. I will go back to trying to net it out to keep it under control.

Maybe ok for small ponds
Used the whole bottle in 2 treatments with no obvious improvement. Went for a Litre bottle from NT pond solutions as that looked the most economic.

This product only controls duckweed - it won’t eliminate it. I have to use it at least once a month in our pond - that’s after clearing most of the weed from the pond before using.
