A well-balanced hatchet with a good weight that allows for chopping and throwing. It is sharp enough to chop wood and has a strong, tight rubber grip that makes it easy to hold. Built with durable and sturdy materials that convey a high-quality hatchet! It also comes with a rubber tip to cover the blade and a sheath that makes it safe to store or to travel with. Great for camping and offered at a fair price point!

It came sharp, it was packaged well, and the scabbard is very functional. I bought it because the blade is a perfect contour from the edge to the hammer head instead of an edge that is a wedge shape like a chisel and like a lot of hatchets. The scabbard is made of ballistic nylon and has rivets to keep the blade from piercing it and is tight. The grip is rubber and has ridges in it that will come in handy when wearing gloves. I look forward to trying it out.

I picked up this JXE JXO camping hatchet for weekend camping trips and yard work, and it’s been nothing but solid. At 14.4", it feels perfectly balanced—not too heavy to swing repeatedly, but hefty enough to split kindling and small logs without wearing me out. The full tang forged construction gives it that durable, one-piece strength you can count on, and the shock-absorbing grip makes it comfortable even during longer use. The red handle is easy to spot in the grass or at camp, which is a big plus since I’ve lost darker-handled tools before. The included nylon sheath is sturdy and keeps the blade covered safely when tossing it in my pack or truck. I’ve already used it for chopping firewood on a recent trip and also for clearing small branches around the campsite—it didn’t chip or dull, which says a lot about the steel quality. For someone who camps often and also keeps tools handy for home projects, this hatchet is an axe I can rely on. Five stars from me, and if anything changes with durability over time, I’ll update my review.

I purchased this for a recent hiking trip and it worked great. It feels solid and well-balanced, making it great for chopping kindling and small branches. The hatchet I received wasn’t sharp at all, which surprised me because all the reviews I saw were praising how sharp JXE JXO axes were. In the description I remembered seeing a picture with a nylon mask (sheath) pictured with it, the one I received just had a rubber sleeve that goes over the edge. Miraculously the picture I saw (that convinced me to purchase) is nonexistent now. I feel like reviews here are no longer a viable way to know if the product you’re buying is good or not. It feels like this platform cherry picks reviews, but that’s just my opinion from shopping here.

my Son is very happy with the size and weight. He is a budding carver, he mostly works with stone. Someone gave him seasoned wood and he's looking forward to new adventures. His recent Mens pinky ring, inlaid with opal, stone is African Wonderstone, size 7

Pretty good so far. I've only cut a few things with it. Would have liked a broader hammer end but it's not too bad. Good construction so far. Handle seems solid. I hope it stays that way. Edit: took this hatchet camping. It's pretty good. It could be a little bit heavier. But that's the trade-off between the functionality and portability. It works fine. I would suggest rubbing a little oil on it for your first use or it will start to rust. It is just steel. It seems very durable as long as the handle lasts, which it seems like it will.
