As an avid diy’er I often find myself doing projects alone. This of course increases the need for safety precautions (although safety should always be the highest priority). I often find myself using power tools such as a table saw or various other devices that can generate considerable amounts of debris and projectiles that can easily find their way into your eyes, nose or mouth. Normally I always try to wear some sort of eye protection. But these face shields add a whole other level of protection to your entire face and head that glasses just can’t fully provide. The headgear is a skeleton type fitting made of lightweight but sturdy plastic. The front band has a material covering to absorb sweat. Across the top is an adjustable band to customize the width of the headgear. The rear band has a knob to adjust the tightness. You can really fine tune the fit of this shield. It can expand enough to fit over a form fitting hat. The the top of the actual shield is a solid black curved pvc piece contoured to protect the forehead. The clear lens is attached to the solid piece with a series of rotating tabs so the lens can be removed and replaced. The lens comes with a protective film covering the front and back which, when removed, the plastic is very clear. I’m not sure how resistant to scratches it will be though. The face shield is attached to the headgear via a rotating tab on each side and secured with a threaded knob. This allows the shield to be raised or lowered and hold its position at any angle. There is a metal edge bordering the clear plastic lens. It appears to be made of aluminum and gives the lens support and rigidity. It is malleable and able to be bent to further fine tune your fit and level of protection. I think these are excellent face shields, cleverly designed and well made. They fit great and give me a little more piece of mind that my eyes and face will be protected when I’m working on projects around the house, especially when I am alone. I like how light they are, the built in sweatband, and the clear plastic that gives me a a full unobstructed view of my work area. A pack of four means that I won’t have to buy these again anytime soon. I recommend this product.
