Great product
This works great! We have used these in a few different places. Keeps stuff from splashing out and the water can run through. My favorite part is the scraper on the bottom of it.

So happy to have discovered this useful item
This gadget fits easily into my Insinkerator disposal and does just what it's supposed to. It's easy to remove and push food bits down the drain with the flexible bottom section and drops just as easily back into place. You can run the disposal with it in place. I like that I don't have to worry about anything getting flung out when the disposal is running or any thing that I don't want falling into it getting in there. I've had that happen numerous times so when I saw a similar item being demonstrated on TV, I looked to see what Amazon had that was like that. This one is the same brand, but a simpler model and much cheaper. The one offered on QVC fit more snugly and the top could be turned to seal the drain so you could fill the sink with water if you wanted. I have the stopper that came with the disposal to achieve that effect if I want it, so didn't care about that function. This one is all one piece and falls easily into the drain if no pressure, and is just as easy to remove. I like that feature so am pleased I got this one instead. Yesterday I pitted cherries and always have a devil of a time getting my cherry pitter apart for cleaning. Sure enough when it finally came apart many of the pits fell into the sink and would have gone down the drain but for this gadget. I could retrieve them without fuss and put them in the trash. The openings around the sides of this gadget are big enough for the water to flow freely down the drain, but even a cherry pit is stopped. Very pleased with this purchase. Had I gotten it sooner, I'd have saved myself the cost of having to replace multiple items when some key part fell into the disposer and was ruined.

Keeps My Utensils and Other Large Items Out of the Disposal
There have been many times I turn the garbage disposal on and hear a strange noise. I turn if off and put my hand in to grab whatever is down there, pulling out plastic lids, utensils, dish cloths, etc. I cringe on the inside. Every horror movie where the disposal turns on by itself plays through my mind. The Danco Garbage Disposal Strainer is the answer to my problem. It prevents items from falling into the drain, but allows the water to drain quickly and allows food waste from rinsing dirty dishes to go down the drain. The disposal can be operated while the strainer is in place. I have been using it for 4 months now and it works great. I just have to remember to put it back in the sink while the dishwater is draining.

Great choice!
This is a replacement for the one we had finally gave out. Great quality and durability fit. Perfect for our sink. Very easy to use. Color is nice.

Great, but not universal.
Great little tool that allows water flow, small bits of food to pass through and is easily removed to use as a scraper/tamper. The only thing I kind of wished is that Danco would sell the Genie 2 everywhere rather than exclusively on QVC. I would have preferred the Genie 2, but QVC is the only place that sells it, and doesn't have any in stock to sell, and Danco promotes it on their site. Kind of dumb. They are basically the same thing, but the 2 also acts as a sink stopper which has a rubber ring around it and by turning it, it fully seals. Oh well. The other thing I should mention is that it's not a universal fit as others have stated. I have a Waste King 2600 and this was too large for it, but slowly filing it down along each edge (a very little bit at a time and evenly) remedied that. Since it sits low in the opening I can still use my stopper without having to pull it out each time. All in all, it's a very simple and effective tool if you want to keep large objects from falling down the disposal and yet allow water to pass through. Note to Danco: Maybe you could put sticker that removes easily on it rather than the one mine had wrapped around the body?

Great Food Scraper and Pusher for Garbage Disposal!
This is a food scraper and pusher to clean of dinner plates and put into the garbage disposal. It works really well in that it rests on top a disposal's opening. There are enough gaps to allow for small items to flow into the disposal but the gaps aren't large enough to allow any silverware to fall through. Also, the pusher stem of the device is short enough that the disposal can run with the scraper/pusher in place. Here is what I like and dislike: Likes ------- - sturdy build - looks attractive (I got the green color and pretend it a tiny spaceship that is parked) - gaps allow for small items to flow to disposal - blocks items like silverware from entering down disposal Dislikes ----------- - knob could be a little bigger for a better grip I give the Danco food scraper/pusher 5 out 5 stars.

Amazing Addition to Your Kitchen! 🤩
Best item this past year I purchased for my kitchen sink! Fits perfectly for food to pass through, but not my silverware or cooking tools!

We thought we needed a new disposal
We were going to get a new garbage disposal, because ours was AWFUL! It would blow any cover off and spray you with yuck. The rubber flange thing seemed to get nasty really fast, and would allow silverware to fall in, but not food. If you tried to push the food in, the whole flange would go down often enough to be a pain. And this was the NEW one we'd bought. We thought we needed a new disposal, but i thought I'd try this first. AND IT WORKS BEAUTIFULLY! No upchucking! No silverware munching! And it's so easy to clean--no yuckies!

Using for a Wasteking 8000 - so it sits just above the rim of the drain pretty well, the 'points' allow it to sit pretty level. It's not 'fit' into the drain like a strainer would as the inner wall of the sink drain is flat and it would just fall through over time, so the design works. I bought red because it's our first waste disposal unit so i didn't want it to blend in. Keeps cutlery out very well, which is the main purpose wanted it for.

Does not fit right in to my drain but rests on top and is handy for clearing plates and blocking items from falling in.

quedó un poco grande pero lijé un poco y embonó perfectamente, estoy feliz con el artículo porque nada corre peligro de irse al depósito que tritura.
