Top surface fittings.
Item has cheap protective metal strips on front/back edge surface which are poor fitting. Came double boxed and very well packed. Works as advertised.

Terrible consumer service
Won’t deal with GE again. I purchased a unit like this though Lowes a few months ago and inspected it for physical damage when it arrived — everything looked fine. I installed it two weeks later, only to discover it had a manufacturing defect. GE rejected the replacement request because of their 24-hour return policy (which is why I was told to inspect it immediately upon delivery). Customer service promised it would be repaired. Now, 59 days later, after four technician visits and about seven hours on the phone with customer service (no, I’m not exaggerating), it is still not repaired. And today, after another 24 minutes on the phone with GE, they scheduled yet another tech visit for next week. When I asked, “How many service visits or how long a wait qualifies this appliance as unrepairable and eligible for replacement?” — no one could give me even a vague answer. This is far too much hassle for a brand-new appliance, in my opinion.
