Plays the HECK out of all those formats you mentioned, although it's a major pain jamming those huge 8-tracks in and out. Also it tends to cheat on your taxes, and spikes your coffee. But other than that it is an excellent choice (might want to skip it doing your 1040k, the last audit did NOT go well!)

How deep are the spacers (the round things that space your radio down from the bottom of your cabinet where you put the screws)?

No. Plugs into 110 wall plug and plugs into the back of unit.

Does this radio have a warranty? i purchased 2 months ago. stopped working. turns on, lights up, no sound. stopped mid song

Ha, this is a slight problem with this unit. I found that all you have to do when this happens is pull the power plug out of the back of the radio and plug it back in. Then it works fine again.
