I was hesitant to buy this after reading all the reviews where people had issues with it either barely heating or seeming to get too hot, but I needed to replace a broken one, and this was the perfect size and it was just so PRETTY! I decided to take a chance. I also planned to test it right away so I could return it if there were any issues. When I opened it, I was SO glad I’d ordered it— it’s much prettier in real life! I absolutely love the way it looks on my counter. I also love that the light is BLUE instead of red— very thoughtful of them. It seems as sturdy and well made as any I’ve had. My previous one was a 6-quart, which I rarely used to capacity, so the size is better for me, and it’s much lighter and easier to wash. I like the wide handles, and they didn’t get too hot to move it. My only minor complaint is that the handle on the lid is wide where it attaches, and water gets between the handle and the glass. I made soup right away, to test it. It did smell hot for a few minutes, as many new appliances do, but the smell faded quickly. It took a while for the insert to heat up, and I got a little worried, but the next time I checked, my soup was simmering nicely. The temperature control seemed to be working perfectly, and I’m so pleased with my purchase!

It's not even worth a 1 star this thing literally fell apart in my hand. How did this pass quality control? Does this company even have one? Im having to place this crockpot back into the box in pieces to return it. Trust me this damage was not done during shipping. It was during manufacture assembly, as in...it was not assembled at the factory. I never leave reviews on products I buy on Amazon. But was the most crazy insane thing I have encountered. I'm needing this size of crockpot for tomorrow. I now will be going to Walmart. Returning and refunded my money.

Pretty but doesn't heat well

This product is very useful and I am using it for making soups: it provide an exellent heat level and is easy to clean and store. I can recommend it as good value.
