I bought this as a Christmas gift for my sister and her boyfriend as they love doing cocktail date nights, but it’s also one of my personal favourite rums, so I knew it would go down well. It has a really smooth, sweet flavour with strong vanilla and spice notes that work brilliantly in cocktails like rum and cola or spiced rum mixers. It’s easy to drink without being harsh, even for people who aren’t big rum drinkers. It’s great value for money and always feels like a safe choice for gifting. Whether it’s for cocktails or just enjoying casually, this is a solid, crowd-pleasing spiced rum that I’d happily buy again.

Such a delicious rum. Neat or on ice it’s great. Don’t need a mixer but great with coke too.

Saw this in one of those Garden Centres that does expensive stuff you've often never heard of. £43 a bottle. I was intrigued by the label so looked it up in the place on Amazon and astounded to find £23 with amazing overall reviews, so ordered it blind. When it came my Lady always tastes it from the bottle neat, and was immediately drawn by the smooth taste so we had a glass each as a sipping rum over ice with Lime. Absolutely brilliant and the best sipping rum since Captain Morgan Special Reserve which is limited and about 4 times the cost. This will become our new sipping Rum. Don't mix it, it's fantastic. Slight vanilla sweetness but not strong vanilla like Red Leg Vanilla (Which I love but is too sweet for my Lady). Smooth as anything, absolutely zero harsh taste and goes down and warms the throat. Needless to say about a week since ordering there's very little left.

Arrived well packed. Had to do identification re age (well over) I have no problem with this, delivery man was really nice too. Good price for a really lovely tasting rum. Would recommend.

Bought this after a recommendation from a friend.... If you're in your mid 30's like me and still reminisce about How good Sailor Jerry's rum used to be (10-15 years ago before the recipe changed) then buy this... This is the rum you are looking for. Lovely stuff. Smooth and sweet with a hint of vanilla! Took me with back to my early 2000's emo days. Superb!

I keep returning to this brand as it's genuinely the best vanilla-spice Rum I ever tasted, it's PERFECT, also very affordable. I'm always delighted to find it in Pubs as well, everyone I've introduced it to has loved it too. Allegedly created for UK drinkers, dissapointed by Sailor Jerry bizarrely changing their previously delicious receipe to the USA version (I tried the 'new' SJ recently & wondered why it didn't taste even half as good as I remembered; least I know why now) - Old J also has a very beautiful & classy label design, which shouldn't matter yet somehow does to me. Love love love it!
