Incredible sound quality
I reviewed the S2 a while ago, which were brilliant, but the pads started to lose their glue about a year in. So that irritated me, as the sound quality in particular was fantastic. With the S2e's that sound quality is even better, slightly more nuanced in every department. I don't buy headphones for ANC, but these seem fine to me. Comfort wise they are great as well, hours of use in one journey/sitting with no issues. I assumed the majority of people pay for headphones for sound quality first and foremost, and if that is the case then look no further than the S2e. They also look amazing too, in Ruby Red. It remains to be seen whether they develop the same issue as the S2's though. It's not the end of the world, but it's not a good look for B & W as by all accounts a lot of the older models had issues with the headband and pad glue. Hopefully these newer models (and the PX3) buck this trend.

In a world of Bose, Sony and AirPods. Be different!
Being accustomed to headphones such as the Bang and Olufsen HX and AirPods Pro I was expecting big things. And they over delivered. Physical controls are amazing. Nothing beats the tactility and precision of buttons. Bluetooth pairing is super quick and there is no lag on any of my devices. Multi point connectivity also works great between my phone and windows computer. The headphones are super comfortable and can easily last a few hours on a flight. What’s really impressed me is the sound quality. As cliche as it sounds. You genuinely hear notes in your music you had no clue were there. And spatial sound is also top notch. The best way I can describe these to my Bose and Beats is that while those can sound like someone set the bass to +6, these sound like there are mini subwoofers which allow the drivers to play other frequencies with ease. It’s super subtle in comparison to the Bose QC but it’s there. App is also super quick and functional allowing management of devices paired and connected as well as bass and treble controls. Noise cancelling is also strong but it’s not top tier like AirPods. It’s functional but not exceptional. Same with transparency mode. But in fairness. Nothing beats AirPods in this regard. And if you’re an audiophile you can tell the difference between 320kbps and CD 16 bit when using usb c wired but for best results. It takes a week or two to properly let the drivers burn in to sound their best. My one complaint. And it’s a very small one. Is that aux doesn’t work if the headphones aren’t charged. Which isn’t a dealbreaker now but as the batteries age, could be troublesome. And as lovely as this ruby red colour is, replacement ear pads that match the colour may also be cumbersome.

Lovely and stylish headphones
Excellent headphones, noise cancellation can be very strong or toned down, and the sound quality is amazing! The headphones are very stylish and comfortable, i can wear them for hours without problems, the battery is also quite durable. At last, the case is very helpful and sturdy, to keep them protected when traveling. I would buy them again totally!

Excellent sound but noise cancellation isn’t as good as some other brands.

Don’t ignore the wired option
Firstly , build quality is superb , looks and feels a premium set of headphones and stunning in red , something a bit different than the usual black or white with good quality materials , looks very nice . Easy to set up with the b&w app too literally a couple of minutes. Listening via Bluetooth is decent , different to my previous Sony xm3 less intense bass but better separation overall , the sound can be tweaked via the 2 band eq in the app to the listeners taste , these headphones are also very loud and can really pump the bass up if that’s what you’re into, they’re perfectly fine for Bluetooth streaming Don’t neglect the wired option though if listening at home , plugging in the supplied usb c cable to an I pad / tidal opens up the 24 bit streaming option and wow , different set of headphones , soundstage opens right up and improves everything significantly , Glad I went for these , happy overall

The sound quality is very good, clear mids, high is not harsh or sibilant at all, bass is just the right amount. I compared to my bose qc ultra and have to admit that b&w sound quality is superior. Noise cancellation is ok, not as good as bose obviously but works when wearing on commute in the city. I found the clamping a bit strong, initially I was worried it would give me a headache but after wearing for a while I just got used to it. The case is on the large side, because the earpieces don't fold, but the cable compartment adds a nice touch. Wear sensor works well, never had an issue with that. Finally I found there are too many buttons on the headphone, hard to remember which is which. Overall very happy with the headphones, look good too, very stylish and premium quality.

These are surely the best headphones I have ever owned. I admit, I haven't invested much in headphones in the past; these are only my second high-end pair, and the first one was chosen for its sound quality. Below are my unbiased and unpaid findings after testing 1 month of 8 high-end headphone pairs. *Key tip* To unlock the full potential of these headphones, you must understand how to use them. Firstly, if you're considering using them with your iPhone, drop the idea. Apple does not stream high-fidelity/lossless codecs over Bluetooth. You are much better with the Soundcore Anker Q45, an unbeatable quality/price headset. For the higher end, consider Beats or AirPods Pro for mobility, as both are optimised by Apple, effectively leaving everyone else outside their ecosystem. Briefly, to unlock the potential of these headphones, ensure they receive a high-quality (700-1000kbps) or lossless signal, and that your recording is also of high quality. You will not unleash the breathtaking sound quality unless ALL requirements are simultaneously fulfilled: high-quality sound source high fidelity / lossless codec The streaming device also supports the codec (iPhone doesn't) wired or excellent Bluetooth connectivity I will leave out the obvious, such as build quality, since Bose and Sony offer similar features, and instead focus on the differences. The pros 1) The possibility to listen to wired music through USB *AND* CHARGING at the same time, gives these headphones practically unlimited hearing time. This is a unique feature, not found in either Sony or Bose. 2) While Sennheiser has wired listening, the Bluetooth drives it uses are more restrictive. And this was the key factor in choosing these headphones: the accepted Bluetooth drivers are better and more compatible with various devices. Sony has its own lossless format, but the high bit rate sometimes causes it to break. With these headphones, you achieve unperceivable sound degradation (especially if you're not a professional and/or you're over 30) while never experiencing breaks because of interference. 3) Unmatched ergonomics I find them the best, with Sony the worst. The overhead band on Sony products bothers me greatly, especially since I wear them for extended periods (10-15 hours), and the narrow/round overhead band starts to hurt. The cons 1) price & HiFi requirements. Obviously, it's costly. If you're unable to meet all the HiFi conditions simultaneously, there is no difference from the Soundcore Anker Q45. If you do, though, and you can afford them, then the difference is earth to heaven. For PC, for example, you must buy the proper Bluetooth drivers, as they are not freely available. They do not cost much (5-10EUR), but it's a great pain to identify the gap, search for them, install and configure. 2) While excellent quality and materials, the textile texture is subject to gathering impurities and dust over time. 3) They are lagging behind in terms of *control* ergonomics when compared with other vendors. Bose, Sony, and Sennheiser have tap controls, while B&W has none. This is a shame, and hopefully it will be improved in the next generations. 4) you mus Overall, they are a delight visually, ergonomically and for the ears. Provided all elements align... which is not easy.
