My Files Are Now Faster Than My Cat (And That's Saying Something!)
Let's be real, my old external drive operated on what I like to call "geologic time." Transferring files was an exercise in patience, a chance to contemplate the meaning of life, or perhaps take up a new hobby like competitive bird watching. I'm pretty sure I aged three years waiting for a 10GB video file to move. My cat, Bartholomew (yes, the same one from the plant review, he's very judgmental about my tech), would often saunter over, yawn, and fall asleep on my keyboard before a backup was even halfway done. Then, the MOVE SPEED 1TB External SSD entered my life, and everything changed. This isn't just a storage device; it's a tiny pocket rocket for your data! Speed Demon (1000MB/s, baby!): Holy guacamole, this thing is FAST. I plugged it in, started a transfer of all my "critically important" cat photos (all 75GB of them), and blinked. It was done. I actually thought it was broken because it finished so quickly. I had a whole cup of tea planned for that transfer! Bartholomew looked up, genuinely startled. I think he felt his title of "fastest thing in the house" was being challenged. Dual Ports for a Dual Life (USB 3.2 Gen2 + USB-C): Remember the great Dongle Famine of 2023? Or the desperate search for the right cable? This SSD scoffs at such problems. USB-A for my trusty old laptop, USB-C for my sleek new phone and tablet. It's like a universal translator for your digital life. I can now effortlessly move files from my iPhone 15 (which, let's face it, holds my entire life hostage in photo form) to my Mac without needing a degree in cable management or a séance to find the right adapter. The "Push-Pull" Satisfaction: The 3-stage push-pull design is oddly satisfying. It's not just functional; it's a tiny bit of mechanical joy. Stage one: "Hmm, I need to access my files." Stage two: click "Engage!" Stage three: slide "Beam me up, Scotty... I mean, data!" It feels robust, and I don't have to worry about losing a tiny cap, which, in my house, is a guaranteed event horizon for small objects. Portable Powerhouse: This thing is so small and light, I almost forgot I had it in my pocket. It's less "external hard drive" and more "super-powered thumb drive that holds a small galaxy of data." Perfect for when I'm "working remotely" (read: from the comfy chair in the living room instead of the slightly less comfy chair in the office). 1TB of "Are You Still Watching?" Space: One terabyte! I can store every movie I own, every photo I've ever taken, every half-finished novel I've started, and still have room to download the entire internet's supply of otter videos. My digital hoarding tendencies are finally validated! In Conclusion: If your current file transfer speed makes glaciers look zippy, or if you're tired of playing "guess the port" with your devices, do yourself a favor and get this MOVE SPEED SSD. It's fast, it's versatile, and it might just make your cat a little jealous of its speed. My digital life is now streamlined, and Bartholomew is back to napping, probably dreaming of ways to reclaim his speed throne. Five out of five lightning bolts! Highly recommend for anyone who values their time, sanity, and cat photo collection.

Great purchase
Works amazingly well. Much faster than the other thumb drives I have. Not only is the speed good but it looks really cool and is built very well. Having the availability of USB A on one end and USB C on the other makes it really easy to transfer things from my old laptop to my new in that only has USB C ports. Great product

Excellent Quality
Very few flash drives out there have the quality build of the MOVE SPEED Brand. from the materials they use to the quality of the memory, this drive shines. Super fast and incredibly durable. If you use flash drives on a daily bases, this is by far the best value to date. DO NOT CHEAP OUT on other brands. MOVE SPEED may be a little bit more expensive, but they are indeed worth every penny.

Solid drive, built heavy, bright color stands out.
Drive passed initial testing. It feels solid, and the yellow color stands out, so it won't be easy to lose. The drive identifies as: 090c:2320 Silicon Motion, Inc. - Taiwan (formerly Feiya Technology Corp.) YSUWD10-2TSY Negotiated speed: SuperSpeed+ (10Gbps) First step was a read test to /dev/null which showed the drive was fully readable with sustained speed @ 996MB/s I split the drive into 2 partitions and created a RAID 1 array which was then populated with random data via: for i in test{01..10}; do dd if=/dev/urandom bs=1024 count=50M status=progress of="$i"; done 53687091200 bytes (54 GB, 50 GiB) copied, 132.842 s, 404 MB/s 53687091200 bytes (54 GB, 50 GiB) copied, 149.949 s, 358 MB/s 53687091200 bytes (54 GB, 50 GiB) copied, 166.724 s, 322 MB/s 53687091200 bytes (54 GB, 50 GiB) copied, 168.832 s, 318 MB/s 53687091200 bytes (54 GB, 50 GiB) copied, 177.895 s, 302 MB/s 53687091200 bytes (54 GB, 50 GiB) copied, 176.783 s, 304 MB/s 53687091200 bytes (54 GB, 50 GiB) copied, 176.841 s, 304 MB/s 53687091200 bytes (54 GB, 50 GiB) copied, 171.117 s, 314 MB/s 53687091200 bytes (54 GB, 50 GiB) copied, 180.213 s, 298 MB/s 53687091200 bytes (54 GB, 50 GiB) copied, 173.794 s, 309 MB/s Then scrubbed the data to check for any errors: Scrub started: Thu Jan 15 05:29:34 2026 Status: finished Duration: 0:18:01 Total to scrub: 1001.00GiB Rate: 948.22MiB/s Error summary: no errors found I'll have to let the drive sit for awhile and scrub again to test how well it holds data over time, but the initial tests look good.

Pretty good flash drive
This really is a great little flash drive. PROS- 2 TB storage is great in such a small form factor. Speed is fantastic. Moving large video files is fast and easy. Construction seems solid, and yellow color makes this hard to misplace. CONS- Often it needs a break after 30 minutes to an hour. I thought this was just the case when editing video files and accepted it for what it was, but it can also overheat from a simple text document. If you want a flash drive to permanently leave plugged in, this might not be the one. The TSA scanners love to flag this thing as a potential knife because of the slide. I've never had it successfully go through security without additional inspection. If you travel a lot, this may be worth considering.

Button falls out, have to hold it together to use it
I haven’t even had this very expensive 2TB SSD a full year yet and the button to switch between Type A and Type C has fallen out. I keep putting it back in, but it keeps falling out. I can’t even insert the Type C side without holding the thing together. I was really bummed to see this. This thing was not cheap and I wanted it to last a long time. I barely even use it. This happened under what I would consider pretty light use- in the 8 months that I’ve owned it, I’ve only actually used it maybe 10 times and travelled with it exactly once. Had I known it was this shoddy I wouldn’t have bought it.

This flash drive is fantastic! It transfers data at lightning speed and does everything it claims to do. Just a note: if you have an iPhone with a USB-C port, it will work perfectly. However, if your iPhone case has a cutout for the USB-C port that’s not large enough, the flash drive won’t fit in fully and won’t be visible on your iPhone. I’ve tested it on my iPad with and without a case, and it works flawlessly. Overall, this is an amazing flash drive that does exactly what it’s supposed to do. I highly recommend it!
