Easy Setup - Says Dark for privacy or sleeping in.
Very decent tent. Pretty easy 10 min set up with 1 adult. Kept water out in light rain. The “blackout” feature is legit. The tent stayed plenty dark even with headlights going past on an access road close to camp. The size is pretty standard for a 4 person tent, but the dome allows for a bit of room to move while crouched. I was able to change clothes in it without issue. The only downside is that it leaches heat. There is a gap between the inner tent and rainfly which allows heat to escape (on other tents I’ve had they touch and retain heat better. This is probably better in summer rather than the fall weather I had it out in.

Good tent
Really nice tent, especially in the land of the midnight sun. Easy to set up and it is definitely dark inside. I was able to stand up in it and I’m almost 6’ tall. Like most tents you have to be a NASA scientist to figure out how to fold it back into the bag.

decent tent. used to be good value. at new prices maybe not.
I havre used this tent a lot. I am on my second one. main complaints first - its wind tolerance is barely what they say. it has to be perfectly pitched with every single line perfectly tied down. fair enough. I had a rod crack from moderate gusts though. it's just a bad tent to pitch if there isn't anything to block the wind. the whole thing flexes in an exaggerated way. its surprising it doesn't break at lower gusts like 20 mph second ... t just breaks down over time I had it under a tree fire a few months in central Texas (march thru June) it was pretty well sheltered from elements and midday sun I used it on a few drips last summer and by the fall it was easily tearing. similar to clothing that becomes threadbare. I got a few tears in perfectly straight lines I did get a new one. I like the design. I love being able to take the fly off and sunbathe. I did get the warranty on the new tent.

Great tent for the price
I love this tent! Received it in July and waited until I had camped a few times to write a review. It's just me (F 5'9") and my 100# dog so I can't speak to having multiple people share this tent. Pros: *Super easy to assemble solo *Extra head room *Waterproof - it poured for an entire day in August and everything in the tent stayed completely dry *It truly is very dark. A little disorienting waking up unsure what time it is at first and I needed a flashlight during the day to find things in the tent *Storage mesh on the ceiling to easily find items *Queen mattress plus room for my bag fit with a little extra room to spare Cons: *It already has one tear. No idea what snagged it but it was an easy repair. I had my last Colman tent for years without any tears *I wish the rainfly came out a little further from the door to protect from rain when entering/exiting (Campground is Union Valley Resevoir in El Dorado National Forest in California)

Easy Set-Up Blackout Tent.
I literally hate tent camping. For so many reasons. One, I used to have a VW camper & set up was so easy, then when it finally died I got a great SUV but had to resort to tent camping to keep my outdoor life alive. Coming from vanlife. I just hated everything about tent camping. I made a bed in my SUV & said goodbye to tent camping. Two, last time I went camping, I slept in the SUV & my friend slept in a tent. She was hot, had to wake up at the crack dawn because of sun beating on tent. And the tent setup was so frustrating, I just about threw the thing into the fire. Well, we are back to wanting to get out in nature after the pandemic & tent camping is back on the table. So, I researched tents with the necessary criteria being: the tent has to be blackout, I have to be able to stand up in it, and the set up has to be such that I don't blow a fuse doing it. And the tent can't weigh 400lbs & be so large in the folded up state that I need a trailer to accommodate it. I ordered & sent back several tents before I got this one. And this is what I discovered through the process: one, a tent weighing upwards of 20 lbs or more is just too friggin' heavy, believe me. Unless you like shlepping the equivalent of a bag of sand in and out of your car every time you set up camp. This tent is mid teens which is probably the heaviest tent I've ever owned, but it's maneagable & the pack down size is reasonable. It fits in the trunk of my sedan with all of my other camping gear. Supposedly the set up is 5 min. I didn't believe that for a second. But it was surprisingly easy. It took 2 of us about 15 min. Pack down was about double that in trying to fit the attached poles inside the folded tent in such a way so as the whole package fits back into the provided bag. Had to fold it twice to get it to fit. Learning process, and I'm sure it'll be easier next time. Next, the blackout. It's significant. I think it's definitely going allow us to sleep past sunrise. And it's very roomy inside, I can stand up fully. I haven't camped in it yet so I don't fully know what issues might arise, if any, but I will report back. But for the absolutely necessary requirements, ease of set up, being able to stand up, and the black out technology, I'm completely pleased.

Horrible quality. Highly disappointed in Coleman.
This is, by far, the most disappointing tent I have ever owned. I have 2 Coleman tents that are 20 & 25 years old, and both are still in perfect condition and well designed. I'm going back to them! I bought this tent several months ago because I wanted something I can stand up in. I am a seasoned Cub Scout leader, and tent camp frequently with my daughers' Pack and Troop. I used this tent for the first time on a 3 night camping trip to the Path of Totality in Southern Illinois to view the eclipse. Here are my takeaways: 1. The Dark Room feature works as advertised. That being said, it was so dark, I had to use lanterns in the daytime. The black out is provided by the rainfly, which completely covers the screens, so ventilation is minimal. In order to get ventilation, you have to remove the rainfly, so if you're hunkering down in the rain on a steamy day, you better have a fan available! 2. Condensation on the inside of the rainfly & door dripped into the tent 3. Rainfly/tent material are very loud in the wind. It sounded like I was in a Doritos bag, and sometimes couldn't tell if it was raining or not (other campers commented on hearing it too). 4. The bathtub flooe would not sit properly, no matter how much I adjusted the stakes. The sides collapsed, exposing my base tarp, which then collected water under the tent. 5. The rainfly tore at 2 of the 3 guyline connections (see photos). Winds were light to moderate overnight, but nothing to write home about. 6. The screen tore at the seam towards the top of the tent. (See photos) I could not, in good conscience, ever recommend this tent to anyone. Now I also question the current quality of modern Coleman tents as well. I'll be holding on to my old faithfuls, for sure!

It survived but for how long.
Context-survived 3 camping trips, two of which were very wet and had heavy rain over night. In terms of dark room tech, yes it's dark. So much so that I need a light during the day if the sun isn't coming through the front window. I feel like they could have had less darkening and it still would have felt very dark. It's not 100% dark in direct sun but plenty dark. 8 person size is avg compared to other 8 person size tents. Felt more than enough room for 3 people with all our gear and being mindful of our shoes near the opening. Glad we went with this size. Sky dome was fantastic. Did not go for the 4 person because specs show we couldn't stand upright. Easy to break down and the poles help to guide rolling it back up-just keep folding the tent to the length of those disassembled poles and roll it up. It doesn't fit in the OG tent bag but the bag is meant to be cut at the bottom to expand and everything fits in tight but still with room. Cons- The zipper frequently gets stuck. I feel like this is because the door opening is so big that the tension of the tent makes this constantly a 2 or 3 hand job. Realistically, we could get by with half the size. -Because of the size, I feel it needs ground vents to help with circulation, especially with only one opening (that usually closes up at night because you want the dark room tech for the morning.) We had tension on the rain fly to allow for airflow and it didn't seem enough. Though on a cold night, where the tent pockets are near the door on the side, it pulls the tent down so that side will always have airflow even if you don't want it to. -Water did accumulate in the inner seam where the tent fabric meets the tarp bucket. This might need some water seal tape if this tent is revised. Even in heavy rain, it didn't leak and pool but I did see it consistently wet with drops around the seam on each side. The most concerning part related to durability is the rain fly. This was waterproof and kept us dry but by the end of the third trip, we had tears at the velcro that helps to attach it to the bars. I still think we will be dry and water getting in their will flow down the pole but this could have been avoided with just a inch more Velcro on each side where it's not constantly under tension but serves it's purpose to keep it on the pole and help secure it if windy. I feel like the hooks to the 4 corners is what really keeps it down so that Velcro really shouldn't need to be under tension.

Protects me from the elements and keeps it dark if I want to sleep late.
Love this tent a lot. Great for one person and enough space for two. Tall people may not be able to stand erect inside the tent. Easy to set up by one person. The tent poles are attached and that helps with packing, set up and not losing the poles. The top of the tent has open netting but with the fly in place you have great protection from rain or dew and the heavy, dark material keeps the early morning sun out and helps if you want to sleep later. I have bought additional tents for family members. Very Happy with this tent!
