Best Ever Rechargeable Vacuum
Amazing vacuum for an indoor cat and kids! Light allows vacuuming in the dark (really!), picks up everything within reason, super simple recharging, easy emptying what’s been vacuumed, and Best Buy for the money! And lightweight, easy to maneuver too.

2 years later: still very happy!
I wanted to try a stick vacuum to see if the floors would get cleaned more often if we did not have to lug out the heavy, plug-in vacuum. I did the research, interviewed family members to see what features would encourage them to vacuum more, tried out my friend's Shark IonFlex, and settled on getting the Tineco A10 Hero. If it were just me, I probably would have gotten a corded stick as you can get a more powerful vacuum for less money without the concern that the battery runs out too soon, and when the battery eventually dies out completely it will either be an expensive replacement or perhaps not available at all. But other family members seemed to think that if there was no cord they might vacuum more often, so to me that was worth taking a chance on battery-power and spending the extra money. The miracle where other family members vacuum more often did not happen (I think each of them tried it once, and that was it), but I am still super impressed with this machine. First thing I noticed, it is very light: it is 2.9 lbs vs the other models I was considering that were 7 to 14 lbs. It also has a 350 watt motor - others in this price range were 180w-300w. I would have liked a self-cleaning brush roll, but my friend's Shark IonFlex has this and she says she still gets hair wrapped around the brush roll anyway. The other thing I would have liked would have been a larger dust compartment, but in this price range all of the dust compartments are about this size if not smaller. The Tineco A10 Spartan is the same machine which is cheaper and has the same features as the A10 Hero but fewer attachments. What sold me on the Hero was the Pre Filter Cleaning Tool and extra Pre Filter (which may only come with the wall-mount version) - this is what makes all the difference! When the vacuum is feeling sluggish and not picking up as much stuff as it used to (and this could happen within 10 minutes, before the battery charge even gives out), first empty the dust bin. If it is still a little sluggish, then I remove the pre filter (which is inside the dust bin and easy to remove), swap it out with the spare and clean the pre filter I just took out so it is ready to go for next time. After doing this, the machine is as good as new. The easy maintenance routine is what I like the best. I probably end up changing and cleaning the pre filter about every 3 times I use the vacuum, and while I'm at it I use a nickel to open the roll brush compartment and clean all the hairs wrapped around it (there is a hook tool included to do this also). Not something that I had to do as often with the corded, full size vacuum, but it is so easy to do with the Hero that it is still more convenient than dragging out the old behemoth. I have not yet run out of battery when I am vacuuming because it is so easy to take out for quick jobs that I do one room at a time and am done before the battery runs out. I have wood floors with oriental or low pile carpets - regular power does a great job on these so I do not really use the Max Power setting. I received no compensation for this review - I am just a really happy customer. --- Update: 2.5 months later and I haven't used the old, plug-in vacuum at all --- Update: 2 years later - Still very happy with this vacuum! After using for 2 years, I still agree with my original review: love the easy self cleaning (still using the original 2 Pre Filters and it runs like new after they are cleaned with the included tool), but wish it had a larger dust bin because it will fill up quickly and usually needs to be emptied before I am done with a room (I have a cat and 3 people with long hair in the house). The suction is not as good as a plug in, so I have used the Max setting when more suction power is needed. The battery still outlasts my usual 15-20 minute vacuuming sessions (on regular power). Only once I went on an extended cleaning streak and depleted the battery - do not remember how long that took, but it was enough to clean up 3 rooms pretty well. Bottom line: still performing great after 2 years of use, makes cleaning easy, but if you need high powered suction then you probably will want a corded vacuum of some kind.

Pretty darn good !!
Not a bad vac! I’d say between a great stack vac & an electric broom. Nothing fancy, just a vac that has good suction, not too heavy but does not feel cheap. Perfect for a handy EZ to use vac & way better than the small dust busters — way way better. Can’t turn off the roller head brush but if not needed, just detach it to save battery charge I’m happy with it & would definitely buy it again.

Total disappointment
I was so excited to try a Tineco after a friend talked hers up for years. She has an A11 Hero, and I've watched it obliterate piles of glitter on her floor. Unfortunately, I couldn't find that same model for sale new, so I thought I'd go with one of the newer ones. I vacuumed approximately a third of my total carpet area before the battery died. On a completely full charge (overnight, as recommended in the manual) it did a living room, short hallway, and 1.5 bedrooms. During that time, it repeatedly choked up and had to be restarted. I estimate at least one more full charge will be needed to finish my house, probably a little more. The dust container is tiny, and had to be emptied multiple times even in that small area. Which wouldn't be so bad, except that it's designed in such a way that in order to get the opening of the canister below the opening of the trash can (to avoid dumping dust everywhere) you have to either remove the stick and floor piece, or remove the dust bucket itself. Removing the dust bucket is a whole other problem. I found it easiest to do after also removing the battery, creating a whole extra step. Then, there's a little trigger underneath the dust bucket that must be released, leaving you to catch it as it falls. Getting it back on is a nightmare, even after being forced to practice. God forbid you drop the canister during this process, it will roll across your kitchen, spewing dust from the vacuum entry hole at the top. At least the vacuum does work well on tile floor, to clean up that mess. While charging, I've noticed that the adapter gets very hot. Hot to the point that I would not leave it charging unattended. The one good thing I can say is that it was nice on the stairs. The lighter weight and the range of vertical swivel on the head made that chore easy, after I recharged it from the first session. If you have "$200+ vacuum just for your stairs" money, it might be worth it. I don't know anyone in that tax bracket. I got this on sale for roughly $180 after tax, and it will not be staying in my house. I'll use the refund to get a decent corded one that won't need so much babying.

Easy to use does a great job!
This is the fourth Tineco product I bought. Because I have two homes when I purchased my vacuum, there was no question that it would be this one. So light and easy to use. Fabulous on hardwood, tile and laminate floors. I don’t have a Love carpet in my house or I might have considered a different vacuum just area rugs. It’s lightweight and easy to use. I always store it on the charger so it’s ready to go the one I have in my other house has a second battery in the charging station. Love this vacuum!

Much Better Than I Thought It Would Be
EDITED a month after purchase: I still love this thing for what it is. It is so easy to use. The power head will swivel at least 90 degrees by just twisting the handle to one side or the other. It gets under furniture easily. All vacs are a pain to clean, but this one is the least pain I've suffered that way :-) I clean it once a week. I pull out the primary filter every time I empty the vac. Tap it against the inside of the trash can. I have yet to have to clean the HEPA filter. It's as bright and shiny as it was when the vac was new. Kitty litter that's on carpet or in a crevice needs the MAX button pushed, but it's gone after a few seconds of that. On MAX, it will finish the battery off pretty quickly. Once a week I MAX all the carpet I can -- quickly. Otherwise, the daily use only needs the normal setting. This is the first vac of any kind I've used that I would say is a pleasure to use. Why? It does its job quickly, doesn't fight me to move it around, makes it easy to dump the receptacle quickly and charges when I put it away for the next day. EDITED to match the number of the photos as Amazon put them below. Photo 6 is pet and human hair picked up using the normal setting (not Max) from rugs/carpet that had been vacuumed with a "real" vacuum a day before! This thing is amazing. The down side is I had to empty the small cup a lot, but it's easy to do. Photo 4 shows the roller brushes after "gathering" the hair mentioned above. I took the roller out to clean it, but after cleaning it I vacuumed some more and decided it was easy enough just to pick the hair off the roller without removing it. Photo 1 is the vacuum roller removed. Just turn the coin slot on the small end cap (counter clockwise less than 1/4 turn) and lift it off. Then the roller comes out pulling up the removed cap end. Putting it back in, the end in photo 2 goes away from the removed end cap, and the other end (photo 3) slides in with the circular side down. Replace the end cap and twist the coin slot clockwise. Photo 5 shows the dirt, dust and other "particles" that were picked up. No, it didn't pick up the egg carton :-) After vacuuming, the battery still had 2 out of 3 lights lit. I'd say it will easily make the 30 minutes they advertise. The vacuum is a joy to use. It gets to places other vacs won't fit. The LED lights come in handy in darker areas. The docking station is just ok. I was expecting to put the vac in the station and charging would commence. It doesn't work that way. You have to plug the charger into the vac. Regarding the battery life five star rating, I gave that since I am pretty sure Tineco's 30 minute battery life is true. If any of the above changes with further use, I will edit this "glowing" report. The instructions leave a bit to the imagination, but multiple readings can help in understanding. You can remove the battery from the vac, put it in the top tray of the docking station and plug the charger directly into it. I haven't tried that, but I'm pretty sure it would work. Six of one, half a dozen of the other :-)

Outstanding Support
Great little vacuum for hard flooring. Probably useless on carpet. It has an issue with even the small foot wiping rugs in front of exterior doors. The little motorized brush stalls out on rugs and then the vac has to be turned off/on to "reboot" it to get it running again. The only other minor complaint is that the handle and balance are just a bit "off" and it would be great if the handle had some sort of soft grippy finish to make it easier to hang onto. Other that those two minor issues this is a great vac. Plenty of suction and the motorized brush really works to pick up pet hairs and all the other dust and fluff that accumulate on our dark hardwood flooring. Easy to grab from its wall hanger/charging station and make a quick run around the rooms. The motorized brush head is low enough to get under most furniture and the "headlights" on the brush head really light up the stuff that needs to be sucked up. I love it. Without the two minor items mentioned it would be a strong five stars. 12/6/2024 Edit: After using the vac for several weeks I noticed that when I "turned left" the brush motor and headlights quit. But only when turning sharply left. Apparently a wire or connector inside the brush head was not making contact when turning sharply left. I contacted Tineco via their online chat and explained the issue. They sent me an email and asked me to take a short video of the problem. Through a few email exchanges their support was quick and knowlegeable. As soon as the problem was diagnosed they right away sent me a new brush head to replace the defective one. Problem solved. Definitely five stars for their support.

Lightweight, short run time
This cordless stick vac is lightweight and easily to use while vacuuming. The roller brush housing cannot be unattached from the bottom of the wand. The dust cup does not come apart easily and you have to pull out the filter before dumping. You only get one washable filter. There is no light on the wand only on the bottom of the roller brush housing. The wand comes apart below the dust cup to attach the crevice tool but it is short. Not able to get into the ceiling corners to get those spider webs. No light on the wand even if it was long enough to get up there. So can't see what you're doing. Same for using the crevice tool behind or under future or appliances. No light. Run time is less than 30 mins. I got this for my daughter and I wish I had asked her sooner. It didn't work well enough for her and her pet hair. Poor suction. So I returned it under the 1 year warranty. I got a replacement and I started using it. Certainly not my corded Shark stick vac. I will not be using this vacuum. It's a pain to take apart and dump. And I can't believe someone would make a vacuum that can't reach up to the ceiling for spiders! It should be able to be taken apart at the roller brush housing at least!
