It's big and sturdy. Makes wonderful sun tea.

This is a quality jar. The glass is nice and thick. The lid has a strong seal, perfect for keeping stored goods fresh. Pay attention to the size- it's a very large jar. That was exactly what I was looking for, but even I was amazed at how big it was in person. It's big enough that handwashing it is easiest. I did manage to just barely fit it into my dishwasher, but it was a struggle. It survived the dishwasher with zero damage.I purchased this to store kibble for my cat. I previously fed my elderly cat wet food, but the vet recommended dental kibble. With my cat being so elderly, I was a bit on the fence about buying a food storage container since I might only be using it for a few years unless my rickety little boy surprises me and lives into his 20s or something. I ended up buying 2 of these large jars because I can repurpose them for human food storage in the future when my cat passes. Unlike plastic containers, this glass jar won't hold onto that strong kibble odor. It would be great for storing dry items like rice and flour, given its strong seal. Because of that strong seal, I would even say that it would be good for storing wet items for anyone making drinks for a party or perhaps pickling large amounts of veggies.

Works great for fresh milk.

This is a heavy duty jar. We use it as a compost jar since it has a lid that screws on. It is on the heavier side so by itself so adding contents to it, it's rather heavy. No composite though! It's been several weeks and it's fabulous! It is most definitely a great value for the $. The lid fits securely and I've had no gnats feel invited to the compost.

Purchased two age distillate in and will serve the purpose perfectly. Thick glass not made in expensively. if looking for this size storage vessel, I think they will be perfect for virtually any use.

As other reviewers have noted, this is a very nice jar. And with a 1.5 gallon capacity, it is large enough for multiple uses. I currently have floor cleaning solution in mine (the kind where you dissolve a tablet in water), but its uses are limitless. I plan to store kimchi in this jar the next time I feel motivated to make a batch. I love everything about this jar. So why only 4 stars? Perhaps my expectations are out of whack, but $23.75 seems a bit pricey for a glass jar, even a good one. I'm used to recycling large glass jars for free once I finish the contents: kimchi jars, large pickle jars, etc.

Perfect for brewing kombucha- good quality and arrived in perfect condition due to the excellent packaging. Price point was better than I could find elsewhere. Definitely recommend!
