Braumeister V2-10 L

Beautiful system. Very well engineered, with high efficiency and ease of use - including programming the steps on the nice big screen. Makes all grain brewing a true joy! And if you ever want to scale up - they make various size systems all the way to a 1000l unit now...

Speidel has poor customer support in the US. After 2 years + 1 month (past warranty period) the controller in my Braumeister 10l went bad. The screen would go completely black (see pic) in the middle of a brew rendering the brew process useless. The More Beer website (US distributor) did not and still does not stock a replacement controller. However, the Speidel German website offers all the spare parts but will not ship to the US, only Europe. That stinks! At this point, I attempted to place a custom order with More Beer including some other spare parts not available as well in the US. 2 months later, I had received nothing. Here is Speidel representative to my inquiry: " Sorry for the trouble it made you and that our US retailer could not help you." After 2 months of no brewing, I cancelled the order out of frustration. I have subsequently purchased a Grainfather Connect. Unlike Spiedel, they have a real US presence with all parts readily available on their website and other US distributors. And the cost is just a couple hundred bucks more than just purchasing the replacement Braumeister controller alone. That is IF you could purchase a replacement in the US!
