My cats loved it from day one!
The media could not be loaded. I bought this scratching post for my cats and it was an instant hit. From the moment I took it out of the box, they started exploring and using it right away. The material is sturdy and feels high-quality, perfect for keeping their claws sharp without ruining the furniture. The base is stable, so it doesn’t wobble even when both of them climb on it at the same time. Plus, the design is cute and fits nicely with the home décor. Definitely a purchase I would make again and my cats approve 100%!

It’s being used
I have a 3 month old kitten and have a variety of things because she’s a picky little gal. I bought this after seeing a post on a cat behavior therapist and thought it looked aesthetic so I looked into it. My furbaby, being so young, just uses it as a climber - which is fine.. do you baby boo. I need multiple playgrounds for her to get her to stop climbing me anyway. It does wobble a little bit, but she’s really going in at it - the ball attachment, that is. Seems to have a stable enough base and she seems to be having fun on it and that’s what matters.Set up was really easy and there’s a decent color variety. I got the beige because it was the cheapest (hate that diff colors have diff price points) but when able, I plan to get a second one in black since I know she’ll use it. Tangent- I have this next to my black couch (that she likes to scratch) so the color is a bit stark. Eventually, the beige will go into my room and the black will be by the couch.Anyway, I would recommend to try! Looks better than others and I quite enjoy the tier look to the block.

Actually very chic for a cat scratcher! Basic black and well built.
Tis looks like it may be the best scratching post for my 3 cats...it should last a long time.

Sturdy and simple to assemble.
Excellent quality! Worth the price. It sturdy and well made. Simple to assemble. So far my two cats don't want to use it. Fingers crossed they will. I try to put it close where they like to scratch my furniture. They are lucky I love them so. Definitely would recommend purchasing it.

Solid, attractive, effective
I already had a scratching post very similar to this in beige which works fine for that space. The decor in our living room is much darker with black and grays everywhere. Just bought a new dark gray sofa and wanted a new central scratching post to deter my kitty from going for my new expensive furniture. This fits the bill wonderfully! Love the black materials and how hefty it is. I was a tad weary from the reviews about a couple of points.1. The bolt at the bottom protruding too far. After getting it tightened pretty good, it doesn't scrape or scratch the floor. There is just enough space with the carpet material so that it doesn't touch my hardwood floors. Follow the instructions and it'll be fine.2. The seam on the corner being a weak point and fraying causing premature failure. I tilted the post 45° so that the weak corner faces inward. It's against the furniture so my cat won't touch that part frequently. I'll post an update if that doesn't give extended life.3. Hardware is super visible on top. Yes, the top bolt is silver metal and normally visible. I used a black paint marker to color it in and it looks great. Wish they'd make this bolt black from the factory, but easily remediated.I have a good kitty that only uses scratching posts. He went to this immediately. Uses it and LOVES using it. I kinda hate the bottom carpet fabric because it's not uniform, but it fits the decor well and is easily overlooked. Also acts like a drink table on one side of the sofa.I'm pretty satisfied for the price. The negative review points are pretty easy to fix with some ingenuity.

Our cats love this
Our 3 adult cats really love this scratching post. Only 1 of them liked our old scratching post (which was just a sisal pillar with a carpeted base), but all 3 like this one. I think they like it better because of the toy-like features, but I'll describe the basic scratching features first. It comes with 3 pillar sections (2 sisal and 1 carpet). You can assemble it using just 1, or 2, or all 3 of the sections. We put it together using 2 at a time, and put the third in storage/a cupboard. They like scratching the carpet texture best. It started to shred apart after a month or so, but that made it even more fun for them as they like the scruffier textured look and find it exciting to pull pieces off occasionally. It's been 6 months and it's still got a bit of life left in the carpeted section. I'll let them finish clawing off the carpet, and then shred the cardboard tube. Once that is destroyed after a couple months, I'll replace that with the spare sisal section that it came with. And, when that's been torn up, you can switch the places of the top sisal tube and the bottom sisal tube (which they don't scratch as vigorously due to it being close to the floor), and then you will have a few more months' use from them. All in all, I estimate that this will last another year (18 months total), or possibly more, in our 3-cat household. They really like playing with the little puffball on the elastic string. They will bat it around, or hook a claw into it and pull it back and then let it go and watch it spring back and swing around. They still do that from time to time after 6 months (it hasn't gotten old yet). They love watching the marbles roll around the 2 tracks in the base. As others have pointed out, the tracks are too tiny for adult cats to fit their paws in (it would be a design improvement to make them bigger), so, I will, from time to time, use my finger or a stick to fling the balls around the track. The love watching that. It makes it more interactive that I have to play with it with them. Since the cats scratch fibers off the post directly above the tracks, once in a while I have to tip the whole thing upside down and knock detritus out from the tracks, or vacuum them out.The base is pretty small, which is nice in that it doesn't take up much floor space. It also makes it less stable than some, and our cats do knock it down from time to time. It's not a big deal to quickly set it upright. We tuck one corner of the base under a piece of furniture, so it doesn't fall down too frequently (only when they have nudged it our from under the furniture). All in all, this product has been a big hit and excellent value for the money. I would definitely buy it again when our current one wears out.
