I wanted a good short antenna for exploring the mountain forest roads with low hanging branches. Something with a crisp audio range of at least 2 miles. The 1/4 wave magnet mount whips do not cut it. I used two of these to make magnetic mount bases for the 15" whips that come with the Baofeng and Tidradio's to be used on GMRS. This coupler worked great. I get a good three miles of usable audio with an SWR of 1.01. I ordered a pair of white 15' extension coax cables and cut off the male end and soldered the wire to this connector. I was actually impressed with how well they worked. Here is the cable I used: Never forget to use ferrite RF chokes as close to the antenna as possible when using magnetic mounts. So far so good they soldered well I have yet to pass RF through these though. I used them as SMA interconnects in an amplifier project.

It's a fine product. They are performing well. There is not much that can go wrong.

Perfect replacement!!! These SMA antenna connectors are so easy to break…These are the best option and gold plated for corrosion protection.
