Successful install on 2016 7th gen Paperwhite!Took about 30 minutes mostly because opening the case was not easy. We ended up using a small knife rather than the blue tool that was supplied. The screwdriver tool was excellent - magnetic tip saved my usual clumsy dropping of screws. And these screws are tiny. After installing the battery was charged to 99%. I would also recommend watching a YouTube video so you can see what’s involved. Time will tell how long a charge lasts with the new battery but my old one had decreased to lasting only a few days. I’m glad I bought this one for under $15 rather than the one that cost twice that.It’s now been a month since I put the new battery in and my paperwhite just gave me the low battery message. This new battery has lasted 4 weeks - just as long as the original battery.After several months the battery holds less of a charge - lasting about a week with more use or two with less use. I think that I am probably going to need to buy a new paperwhite in another few months.

Do not buy this! After only needing to recharge my Kindle a few times since buying this battery replacement, it is already as bad as the 10-year-old one that I used this one to replace.I generally only read about 15-30 minutes a day, and yet already after 3 months, this battery goes from 100% down to 10% or less in just 5 or 10 days. Actually I think the old one I replaced with this, lasted a little longer.I'm not exaggerating when I say that this supposedly new battery is just as bad as the 10-year-old battery that I used this one to replace.The bad part is that taking the Kindle apart is not that easy, and you risk breaking it when you do so.So now, not only am I going to have to buy a new battery - that actually works like it should, hopefully - but I'm going to have to take my Kindle apart yet again, risking breaking it again.I don't know who is selling a good battery for my unit, but hopefully someone is, and that the next one I buy will work the way it should and not be a total waste of time like this one was.If the vendor would like to send me a another good battery, I will assume that mine was a lemon and change my review. Otherwise my review will stand.

Worked great in my wife's kindel. Took 14 minutes to install and seems to be holding a charge like new.

great value. follow the Youtube videos for replacement process. Take care not to peel back the touch sensitive film from the display when removing the face frame.Nice to extend the life of a perfectly good Kindle another 10 years and not send it to a landfill for about $14.
