This scoop is as described. I would say it's on the large side and has a bit of weight to it. This is a must have for beach metal detecting. I find it difficult to hang on my bag because of the weigh (I'm not too strong LOL) but I see many people who will just carry them on a pole. I find the perforations are great to let the sand slide through, as well as less effort when scooping wet or moist sand. I love the rubberized handle, and also that I have the option to install a longer pole. Overall the design is simple and the build is quality and feels very durable. For me the only drawback is the weight, but that's just me.

Very high quality at an affordable price resulting in a great value. High quality and well finished welds of stainless steel. The scoop is very strong, and works perfectly for its intended use. Highly recommended due to the great value. There are plenty of sand scoop brands on the market, but the ones of comparable or lower price do not hold up as well, and are not as well made as the CKG scoop, and the ones that cost a lot more are not measurably better at doing the job in my opinion. This is an excellent product.

This sand scoop is generously sized and very well made. I have used on the beach and Florida soil and it has worked great. The holes are large enough to shake out sand but small enough to not lose jewelry or coins. I was reluctant to spend this much on a sand scoop and was pleasantly surprised by the quality. I coupled it with a CKG travel carbon fiber handle and really like it.

Great sand scoop for the money, BUT, there is not a lot of solid material in the forward edge that digs into the sand, that is, the holes are too close to the digging edge. Once the scoop wears down to those holes, the scoop will be useless. My other concern is it is made from 304 stainless steel. Thatś fine, but if you read up on that type of SS it states that once an area of it is heated (weld joints) it is prone to corrosion in those areas. I plan on using this in salt water so I may have an issue with it, although if I notice corrosion starting I will rinse it with fresh water after every use. All in all itś a good deal. I purchased the two-piece carbon fiber handle to go with this, and it is nice, but you could easily put an inexpensve wood handle on it and save a chunk of cash. Happy hunting!

I have not put a handle into the scoop yet but it looks like there is a difference in construction from that advertised. I would want the advertised construction but returning it would be a bother so I will use it as is and hope for the best. The construction I got does not look as solid as it should be and is going to be a weak point. I will try to get a picture to show what I got as opposed to the advertised construction to show that it appears weaker.

This scoop works great. I recently used it on a beach hunt with my metal detector. It’s perfectly designed to allow you to not only use your foot to guide it into the sand, but to also get the perfect depth with each plunge. Great product.
