Great monitor at a great price!
I purchased the monitor during Black Friday for a great price! I chose this monitor because I appreciate the quality build of the MSI brand. I previously owned the MSI Optix G27C5, a 1080p / 165 Hz monitor. I recently upgraded my PC build so I wanted a monitor to match its power. I was not disappointed with the MSI 271 QPX OLED. This monitor looks like a mirror when it is off because of its glossiness. Compared to my previous monitor, the icon / text sizes were different because of the enhanced resolution. However, I resolved it by adjusting the scaling in the Windows “display” settings. The Pros: HDMI 2.1 and DP 1.4 240 Hz is visually smooth as expected Colors are great Text is clear and sharp OLED Care features to prevent burn-in 3-year burn-in warranty The Cons: Not a curved screen The stand is a bit bulky and can take up some desk space (VESA arm/mount can resolve this) Overall a great purchase with the quality, display resolution, and functions as expected. I would recommend this monitor.

Great monitor for a great price
The color accuracy is great and brightness level well above what is the minimum that I require. The refresh rate (240hz) is quite the bonus along with the response rate (0.03), but the true star is the contrast levels and the color's brightness. The software and navigation is quite comfortable and intuitive and MSI has enabled the use of updates for this model which helps further with color accuracy and other quality of life improvement. And talking about quality of life I suggest using MSI QOLED Care as much as possible to avoid burn-in and it takes just a couple of minutes every 4 hours which is reasonable. It is a great monitor and a really good upgrade from a VA panel, not as bright as the Mini Led but bright enough for 80 to 90% of the people and HDR is impressive thanks to the blacks and 0 bleeding, but it is not going to blind you for ever as miniled (I do enjoy the light blasts but compromises are necessary). If you can get it at a discount it probably one of the if not the best option out there for the price point.

Phenomenal.
Absolutely gorgeous image quality and colors. This really does feel like an endgame monitor for gaming. It’s smooth, it’s crisp, it’s fast, it’s sexy. One small note, if you plan to watch a lot of shows or movies like on Netflix, Max, Prime, etc. You may want to get a 4K monitor since most of these platforms will only play their titles at 1080p. (since 1440p isn’t an option) that is unless you have downloads of movies that display at 4K. (You won’t see it at true 4K but it stills looks GREAT especially with HDR.)

Easily The Best Monitor I’ve Owned.
I’ve wanted a new monitor for a while to take advantage of my gaming pc, and this MSI monitor delivers every aspect I desire. This MSI monitor is bright, vibrant, and has fantastic contrast. The glossy coating helps make images pop, unlike other OLED monitors I saw from Samsung and LG. I was worried I would miss the 4k resolution of my old IPS monitor, but I didn’t. The MAG 271QPX E2 blows my old IPS monitor out of the water, and it’s not even close. Response times are instant, and I immediately noticed that going from 60hz to 240hz was a massive leap in smoothness. Navigation through the menu was simple, and settings were easy to configure. This MSI monitor's ergonomics, design, and build quality are top-notch. Many people complained about text fringing, and while it exists, it is not as big of a deal as many people make it out to be; it’s still very sharp with its 1440p resolution. Another overblown complaint is the purple hue of QD-OLED, and unless you have very, VERY harsh lighting in your room, it’s essentially a non-issue when the monitor is on. In addition, I use this monitor with my Nintendo Switch, which makes playing games brand new again with this QD-OLED Panel. Overall, I highly recommend this monitor to anyone looking into an OLED monitor at a fair price; MSI is the way to go with its 3-year burn-in warranty.

As of today (12/27/24) it's been a disappointment (EDITED 1/5/25)
I installed this monitor on 12/22/24 and I'm writing this review on 12/27/24. Due to life changing things I'm no longer able to game as much as I used to so in those 5 days I probably have 5 hours or less of usage in this monitor. I have been having the issues seen and described in the video since 12/26/24. It started with some medium size artifacting every 10 seconds or so and it's gotten to the point where the monitor is unusable because the artifacting covers the whole screen and I lose image. Things I have done so far to try and fix the issue: 1) Gave the monitor a reset to its factory settings. No luck 2) Swapped the display port cable that I had for the one included with the monitor (my old one can be seen in the video hanging in the bottom of the monitor). No luck 3) Updated the monitor to the latest firmware. No luck I have only one thing to try and it's changing the display port cable again. To my surprise, I didn't know that Display Port 2.1 existed and that fiber optic DP cables existed. Doing research on this issue I found that out. So I had to end up ordering a Fiber Optic DP cable that costed me almost $30 for a 6.6Ft. Sadly I'm going to have to wait a very long time to get the cable since I live in Puerto Rico and Amazon has terrible service to Puerto Rico, even as a Prime member. Wait times of over 3 weeks to finally get my items In conclusion and short term review: Pros: • OLED is on another level! Image quality is outstanding! Its the most beautiful image I have seen in a screen. Incredibly accurate colors out of the box, the deepest blacks I've seen. Can imagine with some tuning it only getting better. The incredibly fast pixel response time gives you an image with pretty much no overshoot making it look blur free. It's something you have to try by yourself to truly appreciate and experience. • 27" is new to me. I've only had 24" monitors before this one so it's been nice to have a little bit bigger screen. • 1440p it's also new to me. Never before had I gamed at 2K res. The difference is so noticeable with the image quality and the sharpness • Aesthetically beautiful monitor. What can I say? The design makes the monitor look very modern but not too "gamery". It looks great • 360hz is also new to me and WOW! The smoothness of the image is incredible! Even in the desktop moving my cursor around I can notice a huge difference from a TN 240hz panel to this beast OLED 360hz monitor. Cons: • I think we all can agree that these issues I'm having are a deal breaker. Especially in the short amount of time I have had with this monitor and the short amount of usage. Only around 5 hours of use in 5+ days. • Updating the firmware is not the easiest thing to do at first. The software is pretty bad and there's no clear, specific to this monitor instructions coming from MSI on how to do it. I contacted MSI's support trying to get some help and they weren't helpful at all. I ended up figuring the issue out by myself. • Updating the firmware didn't fix the issue • MSI's customer support wasn't helpful I pretty much never review anything, especially with photos or video but I felt I had to let everyone looking to buy this monitor know about the issues you can have with it. At the time being, to be able to use the monitor, I had to set it at 120hz. I have the issue described at 240hz and 360hz. I don't have an option in between 120hz and 240hz. That would require creating a custom resolution. But what's the point of getting a 360hz monitor if to have a "problem free" experience you have to set the refresh rate at 120hz? Once I receive the high bandwidth fiber optic Display Port 2.1 cable I will update this review. I'll try to get one locally as Amazon wait times to my country are ridiculous and the return window for the monitor gets closer with each day that goes by. I will update the review also if I end up returning the monitor to Amazon EDIT (1/5/25) I ended up returning the monitor on 12/30/24 as the issues I described and showed on video in this review persisted and even got worse. I was too scared that the return window would close and I ended up with a $650+ paperweight.

Outstanding Gaming Monitor with Minor Trade-offs
I recently upgraded to the MSI MAG 271QPX QD-OLED from my previous 1440p IPS monitor, and the difference is striking. The most immediate improvement I noticed was the incredible contrast - blacks are truly black, not the dark grey I was used to. Playing darker games like horror titles or space-based games is a completely different experience now. The 360Hz refresh rate is incredibly smooth, though I'll be honest - the jump from my old 165Hz wasn't as dramatic as I expected. Still, in competitive FPS games, there's a noticeable improvement in motion clarity and responsiveness. The 0.03ms response time eliminates virtually all ghosting, which is great for fast-paced gaming. Colors are vibrant without being oversaturated, and HDR content looks fantastic. I appreciate that the monitor comes with its own calibration report, though I did spend some time tweaking settings to get everything just right for my setup. My main gripes are relatively minor. The mandatory pixel cleaning process can be annoying, especially during longer gaming sessions. For productivity work, text clarity is good, though you might notice some fringing if you sit very close to the screen. I sit about 30 inches away and haven't had any issues. Eye strain can be a factor during long sessions, but taking regular breaks (which we should all do anyway) helps mitigate this. Build quality is solid, and I appreciate the understated design - it doesn't scream "gaming monitor" like some competitors. The stand offers good adjustability, though I ended up mounting it on an arm for better desk space management. For the price point, especially when on sale, this monitor offers exceptional value in the OLED gaming monitor space. While not perfect, it strikes an excellent balance between gaming performance, image quality, and price. Pros: Exceptional contrast and black levels Super smooth 360Hz refresh rate Minimal ghosting Great HDR performance Reasonable price for QD-OLED Cons: Mandatory pixel refresh can be intrusive Some eye strain during extended use Peak brightness could be higher Would I recommend it? Absolutely, especially if you can catch it on sale. Just be aware of the OLED-specific quirks and maintenance requirements.

Best monitor I’ve seen
This was an absolutely amazing upgrade for me, the level of darkness due to the OLED is absolutely amazing, and the colors are extraordinarily vibrant and bright. The stand it ships with is also great, I actually prefer it to my monitor arm.
