Best lighter
This lighter is great. I smoke cigars, and cigars take a bit to light. You need a good butane lighter to get the job done properly.I've had a few different lighters, but they all had some issues. I'm not sure where I read the first review for this brand, but the price initially kept me away. Granted, it isn't too expensive, but most butane lighters go for a lot less.Well: this one is worth every penny. I just ordered my second. It is so straightforward, basic, and yet surprisingly easy to use and dare I say "fun"? If a lighter can be fun to use.I'll tell you one thing about Japanese technology: they know how to make cars and lighters. My Honda starts every time I turn the key. My lighter lights every time I push the button. Drive a crappy car for a couple of decades, and light a hundred cigars with crappy lighters, and you will start to have "fun" with things that work too. This lighter works. Enough said. 5-stars easily.

Unreliable
Was gifted a blazer microtorch original style , not tne flip cap, lasted 15 years flawless, worked “ every time” for 15 years. This one , one week , caput, flame wont stay on more than 2 seconds , . Dont mind paying for quality, but this one doesnt qualify. Do not recomend.

This lighter is like no other. I got tired of buying the crap at the cigar store so went hunting. So far so good.

Meh - Doesn't Seem Worth the Price
It's OK for what it is.I was torn between this and a Zippo shell with butane insert. They're roughly the same price when you add them together. This thing is bigger than a Zippo, but it also seems it has more capacity for fuel. The Zippo is def more compact. The trigger takes a bit of modulation. I can't press it as fast as I can as there will be no light. I have to press it in a way to get fuel flowing first; then all the way down to spark/ignite. But that's minor. If you have a Zippo, then a similar butane insert would be a better buy. Zippo fits nicer in the pocket. If this was going in a pack or bag, this is fine.

Elegant design, perfect flame
I love these lighters, and the others by Blazer that use not just the same design but even the same parts. The mechanics of this lighter are sophisticated yet simple, it can be taken apart in seconds, and safe, correct, easy reassembly is guaranteed by its design. In fact this design is many times safer than many competing devices, anything that uses soft tubing to get fuel to the burner suffers inherent risks, exacerbated greatly by reassembly. When the soft tubing comes off, on either end, human nature makes it into a face bomb. Colibri, Prometheus and many others share that bad design; Blazer uses a brass tube that can only go into the burner in one place, it's virtually impossible for the fuel to be misdirected. There is no place in a Blazer where unburned fuel vapor can collect -- it's by far the safest design I've seen. While it's working properly the Blazer lights on the first click 99% of the time or better, and it's that reliability that has me hooked. I also like the ergonomics, it has a good, high-quality feel in your hand, the striker button is wide and it takes little effort to light. I even like the aesthetics, a clear lighter has the ultimate sight glass; the case looks rugged and outdoorsy -- all in all a great little torch lighter! So why only 4 stars? If you're thinking, "I bet he never gives 5 stars," think again (or read my other reviews.) I would love to give this thing all 5, but there's one slight problem: Blazer doesn't sell parts for it. I've been using these things going on 10 years, and I've had to buy about 10 of them. I had one that lasted 2 1/2 years, under what most would consider "industrial usage" (being lit 100-500 times per day.) And I had one that failed in the first week -- its igniter electrode fell out. That one was easily repaired using parts from my bone yard, but still though.I think I've only sent back one while it was under warranty; I've sent back 3 or 4 that were not ($25.) It takes a few weeks for them to turn it around, and they tend to focus on the specific problem, rather than taking a holistic approach. (I got one back from repair with a leaking fill valve.) Since it can be purchased new for $35-$50, and new ones arrive quickly, I typically go that route -- having at least one working one in hand is a requirement of mine.So to wrap this lengthy review up, am I going to continue buying these? Absolutely! Would I recommend it to others? Most definitely. Is it a good value? I think so, but your mileage may vary. Could it be perfect? No, everything mechanical will fail eventually, there's no escaping it. Could it be best case? Yes, if only they would sell me parts!! (As is it's near best case.)

a sure light
One of the best cigar lighters or camp lighters I've ever had.I have three of these. They work awesome. Great fuel tank. Strong steady flame with heart.Stay with the solid colors like black and Khaki green. The translucent colors are nice and durable too.I had to send back the silver color back because the finish was coming off.BLAZER customer service talked to me when I had a question about my lighter. And they responded by sending a replacement in 2 days time. Service is excellent from BLAZER.That's a sell!

Nice design, too bad its not reliable.
I have fought with this lighter for a long time, and I guess I am throwing in the towel. Any change in ambient temperature, seems to render it useless. If you expect it to work when its cold outside, forget it. I have tried 3 or 4 different types of butane, up to 11x filtered... it does not matter. The adjustment that the lighter allows is very miniscule too. When it works, its a nice lighter that won't cinge your eyebrows off, but when it doesn't work, you want to toss it in the trash. For the price I paid, I expected a little more....as this lighter is not even a good reliable backup, and its left me with an unlit cigar on several occasions.
