Softgrip fabric scissors, length: 26 cm, stainless steel blade/plastic handles, white, Easy Action, 1070070

I absolutely love these scissors/shears/fabric cutters and I love the safety catch to close them. I find these much better than scissors, more ergonomic - I don't like cutting with scissors. The spring action makes cutting fabric a dream, the spring does not give any resistance on the cutting action but helps take a lot of the work out of the opening action. Less strain and aches on your cutting hand. I find it is easier to cut a straight line with these and stay straight because my hand has a straighter grip on them. I'm not so sure about cutting a convex curve with them, maybe because they are big or I need to adjust my grip on them. They are light for long usage but not flimsy. The quality is good Fiskars standard quality, they are razor sharp and the cut gives you that satisfying sound as the blades make lightweight of the fabric, although I have not yet used them on any heavyweight fabric, but they have been excellent on pin corduroy, wadding, stretch fabric and silk. These are my go-to fabric shears now.

My second pair. The first pair had quite a lot of abuse and had started to go sticky on the handle. They work great on fabric and have cut everything from silk to leather with ease. You can buy a mini sharpening tool which helps keep them sharp. Really easy to use as the spring pushes them back open so would be good for people with dexterity issues. A small lock helps protect the scissors from staying open.

I've been using these sprung scissors by Fiskars for decades. This is at least the 5th pair I've purchased and as I simply can't manage traditional dressmaking shears anymore due to issues with my right thumb, these are an absolute must. They are so easy to use; the points meet, so you know exactly where the end of the cut is, and the blades are correctly off-set (not centred) for gliding underneath layers of material. A quality product at a good price.

Brilliant for those with hand problems. Spring loaded mechanism eases cutting for fabric. I made a bunch of slow stitching packs using these amazing scissors. Highly recommended.

Perfect scissors for people who have restricted hand movement. The handles are easy to grip and the scissors spring open between cuts. The blades are also very sharp and cut easily.

Handle manufacturing is ok. Smooth finish on grips. Blade finish leaves alot to be desired. Point of blades are no good for cutting sharp points. Blades are very short - only 9cm (3.5 inches). Makes them better suited to paper or other products. I tried cutting thick paper (175gsm) folded once and the scissors couldn't do it! Spring mechanism very tight and difficult for users with weaker hands. Amazon returns refunded in full and I didn't have to return the scissors. So perhaps Fiskars know this product is such poor quality they don’t want it back?!
