Froze within 2 days
We installed this on a 65" TV to try to get OTA DVR capability. It's one of the few out there that include 64gb of onboard memory and don't require you to attach a USB drive, or pay subscription fees. I guess you get what you pay for ... the manual is quite lacking in terms of explaining what each of the menu items does to the functionality. Even som we were able to install it and get it running. It worked fine for about a day, with a menu system that was quite clunky. On the 2nd day, it froze on a channel and could not be reset. Whenver you turned it on, it would stay on that channel and show nothing but the "info" for that channel. Power cycling it made no difference. The crazy part is that this item cannot be returned, apparently due to having hazardous materials. (Nice job marking it this way, seller.) So you're stuck with it if it doesn't work, even if it is an Amazon Prime purchase. Consider this carefully before purchasing!

good for the money
It works fine as a tunner , the EPG part is not that proficient and to set up a recorder is a little bit cumbersome , but is okay as a tunner , you got what you pay for

Limited function
We record all our tv shows - so we can forward thru commercials . This box has built in memory its the only one in the amazon market place to my knowledge . So I tried it, after a number of attempts to make the timer work it failed. The only time it did record - by the timer . It recorded 5hrs of the channel and froze up. It was supposed to be a 30min program. On the positive - it records manually every time. It has 64g of storage ( like a free thumb-drive) its a decent media player. It has a good signal meter - program info guide is accurate -Its small in size. negatives -timer is unreliable - tuner drops signal - wont work with big hdd- What its good for- if you need need to the store - on game day. Or cut the grass Just press record before you leave.

Functional at an economic price.
Excellent product for the price. Meets all the basic need to convert OTA digital signal to be used with older model TV. OSD (Onscreen display) allows for a variety of setting changes and makes for ease of use. Well worth the price paid.

not a TV substitute
After several similar products all suffering from the same goofy software and not-very-well-thought-of user interface, I was hoping this one would rise above the pack. It does show more thought: the face shows the channel, not a code like all the others; the connections are more straightforward. However the software appears to be a minor variation of the others; the remote is very similar; and its operation introduces more quirks yet. Most unacceptable is the complete lack of instructions or possible combinations of button pushing to actually allow time recording, something people did back in 1975 with the Sony betamax! There is no guide allowing selection for future recording as advertised. You have to be there, real time, to select the channel and push rec. then you have to be there to stop it. They offered a refund, but this product is simply not ready for use as advertised.
