Maybe this will help others
I used a 6” inch foam roller. The tar turned it harder which makes it better to roll in my opinion. I used a staple on every side of the post one at the very top 1/2 inch before the wrap stops and the other 1/2 inch from the bottom. I would staple then flip and pull tight on the next side. Repeat on all 4 sides. This fixed what most people are complaining about. Once you heat and roll, it really shrinked them up nicely. I used a heat gun and rolled from bottom to top. Once you do a couple you find the sweet spot on how much/close to apply heat. I’ve done 50 posts so far with another 40 to go. Great product. Science seems sound. Only time will tell.

Applies easily, only time will tell if it's effective
Watched a 4 minute YouTube video from the company on how to install / apply these to the wooden 4x4 (actually measures 3.5" by 3.5") post. Straightforward; I used a cheap heat gun, which worked fine. The concept seems solid; this melted tar-like chemical should keep the microbes that eat the wood at bay. Only time will tell, but I believe it will add at least five years to the life of my cedar posts. At that point, I'll be pushing 90, and I won't care.....

Easy to use
These were easy to wrap around the pole. Hoping they do as they say they do and prevent rot tired of having to rebuild my fence. Great solution will update if it doesn’t work how I am hoping!

Works great but make sure you have one extra for practice.
First of all I don't know how well these will hold up in the long run. When I was replacing my deck many of the posts rotted where they made contact to the ground. The idea behind these seems very sound and I think they'll do great. Only time will tell.Installation was very easy on my 4 by 4 posts. Just had to wrap them around and then hit him with some heat. My thorough recommendation, though, would be to leave any extras that you are not using at that very moment inside or in a cool environment to make sure that the butyl adhesive they use does not begin to soften and stick together. It wasn't a big deal, but it made undoing one of them from its folded state a little difficult. Additionally, this is best done with a blowtorch. I tried a hot air gun, and not only did it just take much longer, but it didn't seem to do as good of a job making sure it was shrunken and well situated on the post. Just make sure you have one extra to try, as if you're too slow with the blowtorch, you may burn through. For the manufacturers, if I could suggest a more aggressive shrink wrap on the outside or perhaps one that is slightly thicker, I think that would be the only change. Maybe that and a thicker strip of butyl at the top of the product so it creates a really excellent seal to keep water from trickling down. Regardless, so far a wonderful project. I can't wait to see how well they do in a few years and I will update my review.

Use patience while applying.
The package says, "Do not store in direct sunlight" or something like that. I completely agree! Didn't realize the sun had reached where I had them. It wasn't ruined but I did have to pull the individual wrap apart from itself to open it up.I used these on 20 4"x4" posts. I was able wrap the post with overlap on 1.5 sides. I used a DeWalt 20v Heat Gun for this. Got 3 posts done per 8Ah battery. Took about 10 minutes per post. Used a 4" roller to help press down the wrap. The first one I wrapped the post and tried to pull it as tight as I could then pulled the sticker tape off and proceeded. This did not work well. The last 19, I placed the wrap over the post and let it hang on the side away from me. It's already pretty sticky so I just used the roller to hold it in place while I used the heat gun to get part of it to heat up and stick. I then did the rest of that side and turned the post to do the next side pulling tight each time to make sure it layed flat. This was the easiest way I found to do this.I would recommend these and hope they do add life to my fence posts.

They seal decent, but?
The outer plastic does not shrink as evenly as I would have thought, not quite like shrink tubing. You have to move around alot to get it to wrinkle up and somewhat shrink before you melt the outer material. Heat the entire piece all at once helps but that isn't the most practical.I dug down my existing posts and worked them into the hole, wrapping and heating them up.It's alot of work doing this, but I wanted to give my front porch posts an extended life.
