Barking up the wrong tree
The closeness of a family and community a brilliant story that I couldn't put down. With wondering what would happen.

Laken
Juliette Poe, the alter ego of Sawyer Bennett, gives the most adorable romance full of swoon and sass, Barking Up the Wrong Tree just keeps the phenomena alive.Taking centre stage on this occasion is the extrovert twin, Laken. While Laken portrays an extrovert exterior, there is an underlying sense of loneliness about her. Especially when you take into consideration her living arrangements. Laken is a bit of an enigma, snippets of her past are slowly peppered through the narrative bringing understanding to Laken and her underlying issues especially where relationships are concerned. You can’t help but like Laken and her devotion to not only her family but to the inhabitants of her home town.Jake is an ex sports superstar turned successful entrepreneur, brought to WhyNot by way of a goat farm. The goat farm being a purchase for tax purposes but also as a way of helping a person dear to him, Jake is way over his head dealing with AWOL goats and errant employees. Jake needs the help of a professional, lucky for him Laken is just that person. The sizzling chemistry between Jake and Laken is apparent from their first meeting and only builds the more they get to know each other. The inclusion of a baby goat called Miss Goatikins will melt your heart and ensure you fall hard for Jake.Jake and Laken belong together, they compliment each other and smooth out all of the rough edges each of them possess. Unfortunately, happily ever afters have to be worked for. Not only do the couple have to break down the barriers Laken has created but they also have to work around the fact that Jake actually lives in a completely different place while Laken is tied by work, blood and heart to WhyNot.Barking Up the Wrong Tree looks at the trials and tribulations a long distance relationship and the strain it can put on the bonds between two people. Ultimately, the key to making their dreams come true rests in their ability to compromise and prioritise their relationship. The Sex and Sweet Tea series gets better with each book, the threads of plot-lines run seamlessly through each individual story adding to the overall connection to the story and the characters. Previous characters have their stories progressed while the foundation for the rest of the Mancinkus clan to take centre stage has been paved. I cannot wait ♥

More Adorable Southern Charm.
There is something so refreshing about this series, and I don't mean the covers. Although I just adore them, a lovely change to all the others around. This book and series have a delightful home town feel about them, very family orientated and they just make me feel so happy when reading them. Juliette Poe did an amazing job once again with Barking Up the Wrong Tree - Laken's story.Laken is a little sassy, and a lot of a head strong kinda gal. She knows what she wants, and definitely what she needs. She has a lot of compassion, mainly towards the animal variety, but when she loves, she loves hard, and I respect that immensely. Jake is completely what Laken needs. He is loyal and smart and knows when he is on a good thing. He too has a soft heart and it was so endearing when he was looking after MG. I wish I was her, sitting on his lap! These books are all standalones, they are about five siblings and their partners, but I am loving each and every book that comes out. They are an easy book to fall into and you come away feeling revitalised and upbeat. This one is mainly told in dual POV but a chapter or so are thrown in from Pap and Herman, quite funny. I know that Colt is up next in the series, and I can't wait. Highly recommend each and every book.* I received a copy for an honest review.

Chesty's Out..
Back to Whynot we go, to explore the goings on this time between veterinarian and twin, Laken Mancinkus, and bold outsider, Jake McDaniel.Laken likes a casual hook up. Always has, and considers that will continue when Jake “muscles” McDaniel bowls into Chesty’s bar.Finding himself bereft of the goats he thought resided on his newly acquired farm, Jake runs to the nearest help station to garner assistance. The animal lover in Laken sees her running to his rescue, but watch the developments as she adopts an advisory role to this ex-football playing businessman. All members of the family pop up, given their proximity to the farm, and its developments. Whilst Jake attempts to settle his new acquisition, something makes it a little harder to do remotely.I’m really liking Sawyer Bennett’s alter ego storyteller. The setting, the characters and just general framework are designed to smile. You can’t help falling in love with them.Looking forward to the next instalment, who I hope to be Laken’s twin, Larkin.Complimentary copy provided in exchange for an honest review.

A sweet fun read!
This is my first book by Juliette, I haven't read the others in this series, but that did not stop me enjoying this sweet and fun read about the goings on in Whynot and the Mancinkus family!Laken is one of the twins and the town vet, has had a previous bad relationship where she got her heart broken and won't go down that road again, casual being the way forward. That is until a hot and flustered Jake McDaniel walks into the bar looking for the vet to help catch his goats!! Jake is an ex-football star, now turned savvy businessman from Chicago, who bought a local farm and knows next to nothing about running it. Cue the instant attraction between these two with lots of shenanigans and you have yourself a fab and fun read here!I enjoyed the story, which is told from 3 POV's, including Herman the Dog, which was absolutely brilliant and had me in hysterics!! I would definitely go back and read the rest of the series based on this book.
