I have bought 3 of these to replace the cheap spigots that come with most rain barrels. Directly threads in without issue and get better flow rate with the ease of a 1/4 turn valve.

They include teflon tape. That makes me laugh. I got these to put on a rain barrel because the plastic ones I tried first wouldn't stop leaking.Same with these. It is impossible to keep the washers they provide from wrinkling/puckering as you tighten this down. The more you tighten, the more they leak. Teflon tape. Yeah right. you empty the barrel to install, then fill it to test. Rinse/repeat. I went through three cycles of draining/filling/tinkering, unsuccessfully. Finally I gobbed it with silicone caulk and tightened it down as best I could, let it sit for 48 hours without touching it. Maybe should have used epoxy.No leaks so far. We'll see how it stands the test of time.

Quality: Solid brass construction with quarter-turn shutoff that is well designed and fits several mounting scenarios. The threaded portion of the hose bib that mounts to the tank may not be long enough for thicker bulkheads.Functionality: The unit comes with all the hardware necessary to mount onto the tank, including two gaskets, a bib, and a nut to attach the bib to the tank. The quarter-turn shutoff is stiff, easy to operate, and does not leak when closed. The outlet side of the bib fits a standard garden hose.I used this hose-bib to allow easy filling and emptying of a 50-gallon tank for flushing my saltwater outboard motor. But I can see many other uses for the hose-bib. You will need a female-to-female coupler to attach a standard garden hose. Considering the price and quality of the unit, this is a good deal.

I was worried how I was going to fasten it at bottom of barrel, but they got it all figured out with good instructions. Don’t forget the Teflon tape.

Well designed for barrels including metal barrels. I used two on my barrels and had to take them off the rusted barrels to transfer to my freshly painted juice 55 barrels and found the gaskets aren’t holding the water and had to redo them. I would like to ask the seller to list new gasket replacement if possible.
