Works great. Good Value Review: Warning! Don't leave the container in reach of pets! - I love this stuff for caring for my leather shoes, gloves, jackets, and sofa. It keeps them soft and supple and not sticky the way that plant based oils can feel. It hasn't affected any of the coloring, absorbs completely without leaving a greasy feeling and pNo unpleasant odor and is easy to apply. Paste prevents spilling or oversaturation and its not too dear to afford. BUT I recently learned that my animals like it, too, straight out of the tub! I stopped one cat from licking it while I was working on my boots, but I forgot about putting it back in the cabinet when I left and despite the lid being closed, I didn't realize the dog would be so tempted by it. I came home to find the whole tub lying empty on the floor by the dog bed. He ate the whole thing! I was rather panicked about it, as it was a brand new tub and I never anticipated it would be tempting, so I was really worried he might have poisoned or at least sickened himself, but thankfully there is not a bunch of chemical crap in it and it really is just animal lard. Fortunately, it was a small tub, and a very large dog, so he ended up being no worse for wear for his snack. I now make sure its in a top drawer rather than on the countertop. It made me wonder though, do you suppose in a pinch, you could achieve similar function using bacon grease? Probably a sure fire way to find the dog eating your nice leather sofa, though...

Angelus mink oil for all leather products
Angelus mink oil is a great oil for leather products needed to refresh my work boots for the winter brings back life to the boots softens and seals the leather Helps resist water and helps them dry out better since it doesn’t absorb water so much great protection

Plastic container, no smell
This looked like it would come in a metal container, but it is just a regular white plastic tub. Product works good, I used it to waterproof my boots before going to Scandinavia. I was happy to note that there was little to no smell, nothing even at all resembling a mink smell. It does darken the leather a bit, but I was more concerned about protecting the shoe and my feet from getting wet. I was in some very wet weather and it kept my feet dry.

The real stuff
Appears to be real Mink oil. I’ve used it on knife sheaths, holsters, and leather bags. Works well, does darken leather.
