Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Liquid Foundation Golden 30ml

I was very surprised by this foundation! In a good way... and ive tried probably most available in UK. Estee lauder.. dermablend.. loreal... rimmel.. mac. But this maybelline 30hr superstay is better than them all. I bought warm nude (31) A neutral natural skin colour No pink or orange tone After cleansing and toning skin i applied a light moisturising base.. primer I applied with finger tips... a little covers really well and is buildable Went on smooth.. blended well and i added a little more where needed.. sets quite quickly. Coverage is definitley full and even But its very light doesnt feel thick or cakey The bottle needs a good shake to mix before using or stand it upside down a few minutes before use😉 Its a good thickness and creamy (i did put a light dust of face powder over) but honestly didnt need it stays matt Evens out skin tones well.. good under eyes nice and smooth doesnt sink into lines or creases.. i think this will be my new favourite foundation i will definitley buying again.

Color matches the picture well, I feared it would turn out a different shade but the match is well. Foundation is same as usual, I love it. Applying it is easy too, just dont let it sit too long and blend straight away.

- I had to buy two shades and mix them to get close to my shade but it still was not accurate, wasting £18. - I have acne prone, combo skin. I started to notice my skin breaking out a lot, my acne was terrible, itchy and painful. I stopped putting the make up on and noticed a huge difference to my face, I feel like this make up was breaking me out and irritating my skin. - I feel like this would only look good on skin that is perfect. - Don't forget that when the make up is on the skin, it gets darker!!! - People said that they noticed spots forming while I was wearing the make up and I could feel it. - People say this product is good for acne prone skin etc but I would be careful! You can try it but be cautious because it can effect your skin badly. - I did not find this make up good at covering my acne and scars. - When applying the makeup it became very dry so you had to blend it asap otherwise you would have to use more foundation to blend it out ... which made it look cakey and uneven. - It did not last on my skin, I noticed after a couple hours it started to seperate and look bad. I would have to take the make up off and redo it to last a couple more hours at work.

This foundation stays on all day without fading or getting oily. It gives smooth, full coverage and feels lightweight on the skin.

Working as a makeup artist for quite a few years but now being a full time stay at home mama I’m used to working with a lot of makeup and different products and brands. Although I’m not working full time , I do still enjoy playing around with makeup when not on mama duties . I only used to use certain brands etc in my professional working kit but I always remember using this for a while a couple of years ago and really liking it. A lot of women would always ask me a good cheaper foundation and would often recommend this When I purchased it this time I was expecting to still love it but I can definitely say they have changed the formula as this is really bad and nowhere near the same. I checked and they had discontinued the old formula that everyone loved and replaced it with this. The first thing I noticed when trying it out was how rubbish the pump was. It didn’t pump the product up and after trying for a while , I decided to just tip it out on to the back of my hand. The pump felt very cheap and felt more like my daughter’s toy makeup. I could tell the second I had tipped it out on to my hand that I weren’t a fan The consistency was drying and thick and just sat on top of my skin , drying out the skin on my hand . I’ve had several attempts with this foundation to try and make it look good and nothing worked. I tried primer and no primer . Applying with my fingers , sponge , beauty blender , different brushes , puffs and felt I got slightly better results with a damp beauty blender but It still looked terrible. I am shocked this can be called activewear 30 hour foundation as the only thing it stayed on for 30 hours was the clothes it stained. The coverage is ridiculous, it was definitely not full coverage and highlighted all the things I wanted it to cover. It just sat on top of my pores and made them look huge , I could still see the darkness under my eyes and it dried so patchy around my nose and on forehead and chin. If you have any kind of wrinkles, creases or lines this will highlight them in a big way After doing my full face of makeup and highlighting and contouring etc I looked shocking , my face was full of streaks and the foundation had oxidised 3 shades darker than my actual tone. Nothing looked natural and I looked more like a clown . My face was full of smudges , dark marks and streaks and I looked like a dry , cakey mess. The foundation on my neck dried in big lines and streaks too . I feel like the only way you could ever maybe get away with this foundation is if you had perfect skin Or you’re under the age of 21 and your skin is amazing, but even then I highly doubt it. After trying this several times I have now thrown this in the bin. When trying to get foundation out of the bottle It also stained my clothes . I could not find one thing about this that I actually liked. It is not even the fact it is not a high end foundation because for this price you can get much better budget foundations on the market that look great and are full coverage. Please don’t waste your money on this and spend your money on a foundation that will make you feel confident and get all the coverage you need.
