Been using this for years when costco used to sell them. Costco stopped selling them and if something works and last, why would you want something else. Love this, low noise, very strong. American Standard is simply the best. Very easy to install and compact.

This is a review of the 1.25 HP model First off, the click you hear when starting the disposal is normal, and actually a good thing...Because the disposal spins up very fast (2800 RPMs) the anti-jam swivel impellers swing into place quickly making the noise. You will encounter this with any high rpm disposal. This is mentioned in the manual as being normal,. Because it spins up fast, there is less chance of jams and it takes less time to grind food. This is a powerful, robust machine. More powerful, more torque, faster spin produces a quicker grind and less jams. If you place food in the disposal before running it will not make the noise. The grinding turntable and impellers are stainless steel which is not true of all disposals...The older disposals with galvanized parts would rust through. This should be the first priority in selecting a model. The disposal mounted easily on my previous 3 bolt Insinkerator mount. Nearly all brands use this same mount, except WastetKing. Lots of videos out there to guide you. The only adjustment I had to make was because I did not use the included 45 degree discharge pipe...My existing pipe comes strait out, so I just used the existing pipe and gasket...It was really an easy swap out. The unit is very quiet for a 1.25 hp unit. It is actually a bit quieter than my old 1/2 hp disposal. I measured the decibels at 76.. .80db is typical of a 1/2 to 3/4 hp disposal according to a Purdue University. But this is a 1.25 hp powerful motor. If you are looking for a whisper quiet disposal this is not the one. But it is a reasonably quiet disposal that makes quick work of anything thrown at it. American Standard is a trusted, established brand in the plumbing industry. The magnetic band works well to stop spoons before they enter the grinding chamber. The plug is a plus. The included cord is a plus. The larger capacity chamber is a plus. It can grind not onlt chicken bones but beef and pork bones. If you have the space for it, buy this model! For the price this is a great unit.

Very powerful. Contractor installed very easily. Grinds anything we put in there effortlessly and is a lot quieter than any garbage disposal I’ve used. Glad I purchased for our kitchen renovation.

Install was easy and I'm not SUPER handy, but know enough to be dangerous. It was quite simple and works great. Great value and seems sturdy!

This thing works great. It’s a little loud, but not horribly. It is rather large but still fit below my sink. I’d say that is one of the downsides was the size compared to some of its competitors. Also I do wish the drain attachment for the dishwasher was on the other side of it because the way it connects to my plumbing, makes my dishwasher drain hose have to do a quick U-Turn to attach. I got it for a decent deal for the size and it’s been good for money. It is fairly easy to install and remove. Took me about 30-45min. It’s held up well over the last 6 months I’d say with us putting more down there then we should. I removed one star for the size and location of the dishwasher drain. I’m guessing all dishwasher drains are like that, but maybe they can start doing two, one on each side? Overall works great!

The disposal is an exact replacement for the one that failed and that made the installation process extremely efficient!

Ordered to replace very old insinkerator and installed very easily. Note you will need some plumbers putty which I had go out to buy from ACE Hardware who have small 14 oz pots of it. (Item # 43403) Best features are that this is much slimmer than the older model we had and even better the waste pipe lines up directly with it under our sink. I also purchased a 1 & 1/4 rubber coupling with clamp from ACE Hardware (Item # 4870945). Run very smooth and seems quieter than older one. All in very happy and glad I got this model for better value rather than a more expensive insinkerator. We don’t put much food waste down our sink anyway and catch much of it in the drain basket but it’s helpful to have option.

If you can do a little plumbing it’s very easy. Powerful unit.

Easy to install. I was able to use this one replace the broken Badger 5 without having to make any adjustments to the original plumbing work.

Excelente calidad, aunque es un detalle mínimo, la pieza de huele que va Enel desagüe queda algo floja y hay que tener cuidado de que no se vaya al triturador, adicionalmente, retiene los desechos y hay que estarlos "empujando" constantemente al triturador. Anteriormente tenía uno Titan de igual capacidad y tuve que quitarlo todo, el montaje es diferente.
