There is a reason Starrett cost more. With a better build quality, Starrett are heat treated and the tips are tough enough that they can be used to scratch metal and wood. For the money, these are a good value in calipers. But they are stainless and the grind on the tips was sharpened at such an acute angle, that they bent a little bit. If your project requires transferring a bunch of dimensions, these are enough of a value that you can buy several. (written by an actual human, not AI)

they're dirty, they're cheap, but they're not cheap at what they do. toss the bag and wipe them down with some oil. be gentle, don't crank the screw till it strips or throw them across the shop and they will do exactly what they're meant to do. now i don't have to guess, i know exactly how far apart 2 holes are. they will be stiff at first, but they wear in good after you clean them and use them a bit.

These are well made and are well designed. The small knob to set the gap is very secure and does the job well. They're a little stiff initially but not so that it interferes with its use. Recommended.

These are very heavy and solid, but not smooth on opening and closing. A little heavy forwhat I was looking for. But good deal.

In all my years of buying tools I have never seen anything this poorly made... this was obviously made on the side of the road somewhere... save your time guaranteed return... I don't know what else to tell you do not buy.

I dont know if it works well but came dirty and rusty and smell bad.
