This toothbrush is a replacement for an older model that is starting to lose it's ability to hold a charge. It was time to replace it and this model was on SALE! WOOHOO! It's slightly smaller handle is easier for me to hold with my small hands. The "stutter" at the end of each 30 second quadrant is more noticeable and the light is easier to see while holding up against your face. It uses the same brushes as most Oral-B toothbrushes so I just continued to use the same brush (it is still in acceptable condition). That is a critical need as I buy my brushes ahead when on sale so I never have to worry if I have one. It's got a textured surface that makes it easy to grip and not slip in your hands. One reviewer said it looked like it had hair on the surface. That's dust! It's just so textured that it gathers fine dust but doesn't affect it's use at all. It also clearly notes that you can place it under running water. Being black, it really shows the foam and such from brushing. It states clearly that you can leave it in the charger between uses ALL THE TIME where the older model still states that you should charge it down at least every 6 months. It's not supposed to have a memory so I don't understand why. There are two "negatives" -- both very minor. 1: Like almost all devices like this, the time it holds a charge is worded in a very vague way. It says 2 weeks and then goes on to say 2 weeks brushing twice a day for 2 minutes (normal time). That makes the charge time about 56 minutes - roughly an hour! What if you use it 3 times a day (as I do upon dentist recommendation)? That makes it about 9 days! That can be confusing. 2: Good luck at "registering it". The box comes with a little card for coupons if you "register". This does NOT affect the warranty. It's only for the coupons. However, you can't do it (unless they've fixed the problem in the past week). I tried! This model is not on the list! You have to select what model you are "registering" and it's not on the list. I called and they checked and were shocked to find the customer was actually right! I'm getting my coupons and just warning people of the minor issue.
