I formerly had a gravity kibble feeder, which allowed my cats unlimited access to dry Purina Cat Chow. One of my two cats is obese, so I bought this feeder to control the amount of food consumed. General impressions of the product: (a) Works great with Purina Cat Chow, and probably would with nearly all kibble foods. (b) Incredible value. This product has lots of material (molded plastic), electronics, and electromechanical elements. It is amazing to be able to purchase this at retail for around $40. (c) Seems to be well thought out in every respect. Not hard to program. Essentially, the product has a minimum portion (1/24 of a cup), and you just set times and the number of 1/24-cup portions to be dispensed at each time. I have nothing negative to say about the product. But there some thoughts: (a) I'm skeptical that the batteries would last 180 days as claimed. The device has a single LED that is always illuminated, and active electronics. I have not measured the electrical current consumption, but even at 10mA (assuming the engineers have done a REALLY good job), I calculate 150 days max. I would guess that either plan on changing the batteries 3-4 times a year, or use the batteries as a power fail backup (you can have batteries and wall power connected at the same time). (b) With my 2 cats (on a diet), the food reservoir lasts nearly two weeks. I think in a typical 1- or 2-cat household, refilling it once per week would be adequate. (c) As one other reviewer pointed out, when reassembling the portion of the product containing the moving partition that dispenses food, the locking tabs will engage in 3 positions, but only 1 position is correct (the 3 tabs are not 120 degrees apart). This is a minor gotcha. It has a reassembly (after cleaning) complexity similar to a kitchen blender. (d) The company claims to have a 2-year hassle-free warranty. Assuming that the company honors the warranty, this product is an incredible value. On a humorous note, there is a delay of a fraction of a second between when the product's motor starts (nearly silent) and when the food clanks into the stainless steel feeding bowl. I've found, after a month of exposure to the product, that one of my cats begins moving towards the feeder before I hear anything (she clearly hears the motor start). So, it has doubled as a cat hearing test. I'm convinced that one of my cats has outstanding hearing.

I purchased this pet feeder over a year ago (July 2024) and I have really had no significant problems with it. The only tiny thing to mention is that over time the clock seems to speed up a bit. While I have it set to go off at the top of the hour, over time it will eventually be dispensing at 10 mins to the hour. Not a big deal to me at all. Everything else has worked wonderful. Since it is not located near a power outlet, I put batteries in it and I STILL have not needed to change the batteries. For anyone who is concerned about using batteries, do not be worried. The food is kept nice and fresh with the seal lock on the top and I've never had a problem with any moisture building up and I don't even have any desiccant packs in it. My cat was particular and didn't like the stainless dish, but I was able to place her small ceramic dish in front of it instead with no problem. The timing setup takes a bit to get used to but it's fairly straightforward once you get the hang of it. The instructions do explain how to do it. It sits securely on the floor and has never tipped over. Overall I think it's a good value and I would recommend since I've been using it for quite awhile without any significant issues.

I’ve been using this automatic feeder for a while now and ended up buying a second one, which should say a lot about how well it’s worked overall. From a functionality standpoint, it does exactly what it’s supposed to do—handle feeding reliably without constant manual involvement. Setup was straightforward, and once configured, the feeder has been very consistent with scheduled feedings. The dispensing mechanism has been accurate and dependable, and I haven’t experienced any missed or partial feedings. For day-to-day use, it essentially automates the entire feeding process, which is especially helpful if you’re away from home or keeping a strict schedule. The app is generally useful but not perfect. Occasionally, it can be a bit glitchy—specifically when trying to add additional feeding times, where the app sometimes doesn’t allow changes right away. It hasn’t affected existing schedules, but it can be mildly frustrating when making adjustments. One area that could be improved is notifications. The feeder sends alerts for every feeding event, which is fine, but the “low food” notification can get lost among those routine alerts. A more distinct or higher-priority notification for low food levels would make that feature more effective. Overall, despite a few app-related quirks, the hardware itself has been extremely reliable. Once set up, it performs consistently and takes a lot of the manual effort out of feeding. If you’re looking for a dependable automated feeding solution and are okay with minor app imperfections, this is a solid option.

Arrived promptly and in good condition. So far it works well and even remembers the settings for a short time when unplugged and without batteries. My biggest complaint is that the bowl does not latch on to the feeder, it is just kind of held there by the weight of the unit. So when the cat starts to push at the unit hoping for more food, the bowl detaches. It seems like a pretty basic design flaw but maybe I'm missing something. My plan now is to tape the bowl to the feeder to keep it from coming away so easily. Otherwise it's good.

For me the main draw for this feeder was the ability to recharge the built-in battery and not needing to have the feeder plugged into mains. The app is easy to use, pre-programmed feeding times are accurate and manual feeds are instantaneous, even when done remotely. Dispensing can be a bit loud (especially in the quiet early hours), but a great signal to our cat who’ll stop in her tracks and race to go eat. Provides great peace of mind knowing our cat is fed during the work day, and will receive dinner on time even if we’re late home. No more being woken in the early hours for food either.

Has all the features described and they work consistently. Also appreciate the option to manually dispense meals when things go wrong and I need to make up for missed ones.
