Used this to mount a vertical bar on my truck so I could put the Kayak up in the air. Worked perfectly. The quality of the Curt matches my other Curt products. No complaints with quality at all! How I used it: - I have a ranch style Frontier front bumper and brush guard on my Chevy 2500HD truck. - I mounted the Curt hitch vertically behind the brush guard by drilling holes through the diamond plate deck and used grab bolts (U-Shaped bolts) to draw the hitch down to the deck/bumper. This held it in a vertical position perfectly. I was able to mount a "hitch extender" vertically. This is an hitch extender that normally mounts in a 2in box hitch and extends out behind the truck to carry long boards, etc. I placed this in the Curt hitch place pointing straight up, then drilled a hole through the top bar of my brush guard through the hitch extender (pointing vertically) and put a bolt through the whole thing just to hold it in place. I was then able to mount my Kayak (with help) with one end on my headache rack and the other on the vertically mounted hitch extender. Carried my kayak around for a week like this just to try it out. Worked great. No issues. Intend to use this so we can take our kayaks with us when we travel in our Shasta Phoenix 5th Wheel RV.

Holes needed to be cut out ¼ inch for the Taco bummer and the bottom is on a angle so I made spacers

Top plate on this hitch was warped from the welding process! Had to use a hydraulic press to straighten it before installing! Other than that, it functions as it should. There is no moving parts so not much to review.

Easy to install on truck with step bumper. Made very sturdy. Hardware included was heavy duty.
