Engaging
A great book to initially get children engaged with books. Full of brightly presented pictures with the minimum storyline to question the child on their choice. A favourite of my youngest at pre-school level. And recently bought as a fun memento. Tears of joy shed with the memory.

A brilliant entertaining book
I was worried my 9-year-old might find the book too childish, but she loved it just as much as my 6-year-old. We've spent countless hours reading it together and laughing at the ridiculous combinations we've come up with. It's been a great way to spark their imaginations.

Wonderful book
My toddler is in love with this book! The concept is brilliant, the illustrations are great...my toddler has been requesting to read this at bedtime for the last few days and her vocabulary has increased immensely. We end up talking about different things (locations, transport, jobs, food, colours etc) every night and I can't see her getting bored of it anytime soon. I will be definitely recommending this to everyone I know!

Inspirational!
Inspirational! A lovely book that engages with kids’ growing awareness of the diversity of life on earth, the distinctiveness of each creature, and the collective contribution we make to the balance of life and nature. Delightful illustrations follow Loulou’s longing first to become an animal, and then to capture her realisation that she’s already part of the animal family - and that human animals are responsible for protecting and supporting the planet we share with the rest of the animal kingdom. The ‘change’ human animals need to make is to respect our shared earth and all the lives that depend on it. It’s only a little book, but it has loads of potential to stimulate surprising and enlightening discussions, even with very with young readers. .My grandsons loved the idea of inhabiting the skin of other animals, and the story offers great opportunities for interaction and role playing. Using the activity pages at the back of the book, we explored the animals they wanted to be and why, where they lived and who looked after them – leading to some pretty lurid speculation about creatures who are farmed or hunted by human animals! They wanted to know who would look after animals left homeless by the destruction of seas and forests, and told me what they’ve learnt about climate change in school, and especially our personal and collective responsibilities to protect and preserve the resources we all depend on. An unexpectedly rewarding book, and good fun, too.

The best
This is the most wonderful book which we have replaced from our original through endless use- what I admire is that each time it is chosen to be read it’s a whole new story made by the child’s choices that night. The lovely calm and colourful images invite the child’s imagination to think freely and in this house it’s on the favourite shelf! Great book.
