Quick, Easy, Very Tasty
Makes a great dashi stock. I mostly use it for miso soup, but also use it as a base for other soups. I really appreciate that it has less sodium than other brands without compromising flavor. When you open the package, you will get hit with a *very* strong fish smell. However, the final result will only have a very subtle fishiness to it - almost none at all. It is kind of hard to describe the flavor other than it just makes everything taste so much better.

Don't know what dashi is SUPPOSED to taste like, but...
A little (much later) update: THIS IS NOT A SALT-FREE PRODUCT!!!! THE DRIED FISH USED TO MAKE DASHI BASE IS H E A V I L Y SALTED!!! I just want to talk about salt for a moment. I've seen complaints about amounts of salt in other brands, even though they claim to have no added salt. Katsuobushi (dried bonito) is heavily salted to preserve the fish while drying, so there is no way to make dashi be "not salty". I use these dashi bags AS a source of salt when cooking. So, yeah, there may be no more salt added when producing the dashi bags, but the dried fish is heavily salted to dry it... This is tasty! Very easy to use, clearly, and gave a REALLY nice flavor to chicken soup. I was afraid it might taste fishy (and I am NOT a seafood eater!) but I didn't find it fishy at all, even when tasting it before adding the chicken broth. Could have left it as it was and had a really tasty chicken soup, but I also added miso, which was interesting. It was good, but then I added a good teaspoon+ of sesame oil, and that took it over the top. So good! Sesame oil is delicious anyway, but maybe it brought out other oil soluble flavors (or at least "carried the flavors across the palate") because it seemed to add a LOT of depth to the overall flavor, rather than just adding the taste of toasted sesame... Anyway, I definitely recommend these dashi "teabags" - easy to use, no mess, and adds lovely flavor to soups. I'm sure to find many uses for these in the future!

Just perfect
Having tried dozens of different dashis (both from Japan and bought in the states) this one is by far my favorite. They've perfected the balance of fragrant, rich, and salty without actually adding salt. It's also cheaper than basically every other brand and an individual packet feels like it goes further. Just try it.

It's main ingredient isn't salt
The main ingredients are fish not salt so that's good. Seem to provide a more settle flavor. A little expensive though

Delicious
It is delicious and it was the last thing I needed to finally make miso soup at home. I also love how it is good quality with natural ingredients, no added unnecessary sugar/salt or toxic chemicals/preservatives. Easy to use. 2.5 cups of water used for each sachet. Big bowl of miso for one or two small bowls for two people.

If you are questioning getting this, DON'T!
Man oh man. Not only is it worth the price and then some, but the quantity and quality is great too. So so good for my miso soup. Makes my miso soup tastes pretty dang close to restaurant style. Honestly, might be better. It enhances the flavor of the broth so much. The packets hold very well. Never had one break a part in the water while boiling, even swirling it around in the pot, never any breakage. Don't hesitate any longer. This soup broth packet is the way to go.

おいしいだしときれいな食材
I was recently diagnosed with alpha-gal syndrome and can no longer consume mammalian products or byproducts. I was really shocked to find out my dashi powder had dairy in it! It was difficult to find a replacement dashi that did not in stores. I used the fig app to search and find this product that is safe for me to eat. Its absolutely delicious, better than the brand I had been using. So grateful to be able to continue eating my favorite food (udon noodles) and look forward to incorporating it in many more dishes.
