I've bought a bunch of Silicon Power SSDs and SD cards over the years. All of them previously were fine, so I got two of these as mirrored boot drives for a home storage server. They worked flawlessly for over a year, and then one day after a reboot one of them went read-only. Unfortunate, yes, but that is why you have a mirrored array instead of just one drive for a server. These things happen. I filed an RMA request and included the relevant information. SP had me ship the drive to them and just a few days after it arrived, they approved a replacement which I received today new in box. I really appreciate their supporting their product, and wanted to use this review to encourage them to keep it up. Since, again, I got these to be boot-only drives for a server I don't really have any thoughts on their performance - but they are nice slim 7mm drives which were as easy to install as a SATA drive can be. Excellent utility drive for something like a home server, HTPC, emulation box, or the like.

I bought the item in April of 2024 and gave it 4 stars. 1 year later I'm giving it 1 star. 5 months in had total drive failure. Thought it was something I did. Started over from scratch, and it lasted 3 months. Did it once again and got 4 months out of it before it's totally unusable. After the first crash, I kept a close watch on it using CrystalDisk Info. It always showed good health w/ no bad sectors. Do not know if it was just this particular drive out of many, or not. I will not buy another. Be safe....BACK UP YOUR DATA!!!!!!

This is dramless TLC SSD with 2048 spare blocks (only) Speeds do not impress either, IOPS on the low side. There are better TLC SSDs from reputable brands at lower or comparable price which also have DRAM cache.

The Silicon Power 128GB SSD is a budget-friendly SATA drive that offers significant speed upgrade for my old PC, it's easy to install, works very well, no compatibility issues. It's a great option for running your operating system. Bonus it provides better performance than a traditional HDD and great value for the price.

Speed itself is Good but It got corrupted easily maybe because I dual booted windows. I think you should try Silicon Power SSD. My laptop booting time is now 10x better than my previous HDD
