Great Space-Saving Knife Storage Solution
The Bellemain 100% Pure Bamboo In-Drawer Knife Storage is a great addition to my kitchen. It provides a nice, organized way to store knives of various sizes, and everything fits securely in place. I especially appreciate how it frees up space on my countertop by eliminating the need for a bulky knife block. The bamboo is sturdy and looks great inside the drawer. Highly recommend for anyone looking to tidy up their kitchen and keep knives safely stored!

Bellemain Bamboo Knife Block vs. Heim Concept Bamboo Knife Block
A few weeks ago I bought this Bellemain knife block to organize my knives. Then, a couple days ago, I was offered the opportunity to receive the Heim Concept Bamboo Knife Block Organizer at a discount to review. I accepted the offer, so now I have both. This review focuses on comparing the two knife blocks. Here's a summary of my review: The two products look almost identical, but the Bellemain is the better knife block because the large slots in the Heim Concept are too wide and the small slots are too shallow. As a result, none of my knives sit well on the Heim Concept block, but they all sit well on the Bellemain block. Bellemain: 5 stars. Heim Concept: 3 stars. Here's the more detailed version: This Bellemain bamboo knife block and the Heim Concept bamboo knife block look almost identical. Their dimensions are effectively the same (16.5" x 5.5" for the Heim Concept, 16.5" x 5.25" for the Bellemain), so if one will fit in your drawer, they both will. Both are the same height of 2" without knives or just over 3" with my chef's knife in them. Both say they fit 16 knives, but I can only fit 11 in either of them (perhaps you can fit 16 by only using small knives). Their coloration is very similar as well, with the Heim Concept block being slightly darker than the Bellemain. When I first looked at these blocks, I expected my review would say that they're basically indistinguishable and you should just shop by price. However, then I put knives into the Heim Concept block for the first time. With the Bellemain block, the knives all fit snugly and the blades are completely enclosed by wood. However, with the Heim Concept block, this is not the case. The knife slots for large knives are significantly wider on the Heim Concept, compared to the Bellemain. Maybe if you have some extremely wide knives, this would be useful, but for my knives, it just means that they aren't held securely in place as well as with the Bellemain and they rattle around more when the drawer is opened and closed. The small knife slots on the Heim Concept block are even worse. The knives sit in the small slots in a way that leaves the point of the blade exposed (see photos). If I wanted exposed blades, I could just throw my knives in a drawer without a block! Maybe if I had different knives, they would work better with the Heim Concept knife block (though it's not like I just have knives from one quirky company, I'm using knives from three different manufacturers). Most of the other reviewers of the Heim Concept block seem to like it, so it's possible it's good for most people's knives. However, when I compare how much better the Bellemain block works with my knives, I have to give the Bellemain block 5 stars and I can't give the Heim Concept block more than 3.

Well made and just as described
I wanted a drawer knife block to keep my good knives separate from the other knives. This holder is perfect, holds even my longest knives. It looks nice and appears to be well made.

Well made nice looking knife block
This seems really well made and substantial and holds our knives well. It also looks nice and doesn't look or feel cheap. We were able to fit 11 knives in it easily. A few of our larger knives - large santoku knives and chef's knives fit, but do stick up a little bit, because of the angle of how the knife sits in the block. It doesn't bother us, because we have a deep (4-5 inch) drawer. We have purchased a second block to fit the rest of our knives, since we like this one. It is great to be able to get the knives off the counter, if you have the space. We went back and forth between a few very similar models before deciding on this one. I liked the finish on this one in pictures, and it doesn't disappoint in person... We also purchased this block, in part, because some other similar models seemed to have metal dowels holding them together, and we read those could dull or damage blades over time, because the blade would sit directly against the metal. This one has wood dowels, so nothing that can hurt the knives. This fits nicely in our 21 inch deep drawer and is heavy enough that it doesn't seem to shift around.

Just what I wanted!
It was even better than described. Fits nicely in the drawer; the design keeps all the sharp edges covered; it holds a variety of sizes from steak knives to a long slicing knife and an Asian chopper. Good value.

Well-crafted, Beautiful product that works perfectly!
Ok, I rarely write reviews, but I am so happy with these (I bought 2) that I am making the effort. They fit perfectly in my drawer and my knives fit perfectly in it. In case it helps you see how your knives would fit, my thickest handled knife (1 1/2" high measuring handle edge while sitting upright on blade) sits just about 3 1/4" high on this organizer. My drawer is only 3' deep but has a larger clearance of 3 3/4" so all my knives go into my drawer perfectly. [The height of the handle is really all you need to worry about as the blade slants into the drawer block]. I was glad I made measurements as I almost bought a different highly rated one that wouldn't have fit. I like my knives in a drawer but I know that I was paying for it by having them get dull faster for doing it - now I will be able to avoid that problem. Plus, it is much safer having them all organized in their own slot then in a jumble in their drawer. Additionally, while I did not purposely seek out a bamboo product - I really like the look. It looks beautiful and very well crafted. That makes me glad that I didn't try a make-it-yourself version. I doubt that I could have made it fit two rows of knives or made it look as classy and polished, and probably wouldn't have made it for less than this price anyway. So hurrah to this manufacturer for making a well-crafted, well-designed, beautiful product and offering it for a fair price (I paid $16.95 each). Thank you!

Well made, fits 16 knives very well
It is beautiful and well- made. I would not know that it's bamboo. It looks like wood to me. The slots are perfectly even. It holds my 16 knives, which is what it promises. IF one had a very deep drawer, it could hold even more. But it doesn't promise more, only 16 which is what would fit in a normal depth drawer. I did find a way to fit in more knives. I have some very very small cheap knives, and after the 16 normal knives are in, I can fit a few very small one in the end with the narrow slots, if I let the handles stick up in the air a bit, instead of horizontally. So- great product, and you might even be able to fit in more than 16 knives.

Great quality, really smart design
LOVE these knife blocks. We just remodeled our kitchen, adding a second prep area, so both my wife and I wanted to have our knives organized in our drawers. Looked at the reviews and bought one of these for her, then bought this one for my drawer, since I'm a bit of a kitchen knife junky: https://www.amazon.com/Included-Pointing-Sharpener-Noble-Organizer/dp/B01DG45HOU/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1530246298&sr=8-6&keywords=in+drawer+knife+holder. Wanted to love this, but once I put it in the drawer, it just didn't work. Love that it has lots of slots for large knives and a spot for the knife steel. Unfortunately, the "small" knife section is really badly designed. Unless you have a bunch of knives the same size (shorter than the slot/handle area), it's really hard to get the knives out. Even if they are short enough, it's a pain to dig them out of the slots. Nice idea, poor implementation for the way I use it. So, after loading up hers, and mine, I bought 2 more of these Bellemain's for my drawer. They not only allowed for more knife storage, but left a gap between the 2 for the steel. Problems solved. More room for knives, large and small, and better design that allows easier/more flexible access to the knives. Since the "upper" knife slots for shorter knives are open, grabbing them is easy, as opposed to the designs that have the handles sitting down in a pre-cut groove. As always, your mileage may vary, but these are working great for us!
