UPDATED REVIEW ON 8/18/2025 (purchased kettle on 05/05/2024, so have had Ascot glass kettle for 1 year 3 months). We love this glass kettle still BUT the metal base inside now has a clear rust spot. I tried instructions to boil water/vinegar mixture (equal parts) and then let sit. The rust spot is still there no matter and cannot be scrubbed away. We are being very careful to not leave any water sitting in the kettle but are very disappointed and do not feel comfortable to keep using this kettle with a rust spot clearly showing - we cannot be sure that now that the stainless steel bottom inside base has been breached that nasty metals might be leaching into our boiling water because of this. I'm placing this review and getting ready to contact Ascot via their website and may update after. We had gone through SO many glass tea kettles trying to avoid heavy metals/plastic, etc., and THIS was the one recommended by a website I follow and trust (Mamavation). It was pricier than the ones we have gone through over the years but we felt it was worth it. Having to buy a new one every 1.5 years of even the no plastic/no lead/etc. is very disheartening. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We've had this kettle for about 4 months now after having had so many glass/no plastic electric kettles fail on us after less than a year or two. This one was recommended by someone I follow stating it was lead-free. We use it several times daily for hot water for coffee but since April, it's getting almost double daily use making hot water to make sugar water nectar for the hummingbirds. You have to remember to NEVER grab the lid without a pot holder, as the ring on the top is super hot. Otherwise, it's the most attractive glass tea kettle we've had yet - it works fast enough for our purposes, and we really hope it holds up to our regular usage. One other note would be that the spout is all glass - you do have to be careful to not bang/bump it onto anything hard!

I replaced my old plastic kettle with this one to avoid plastic. I primarily use my kettle for pour-over coffe, and honestly, my old one poured better, That said, this is good looking, boils water quickly, and does the job.

Nice looking but two in a row have stop heating after 10 months. Boo for $60!

Looks good. Good size. I'm pretty sure no plastic comes into contact with the water.

Love this kettle so much bought a second one. It works great and has lasted awhile/ years so far. The first one has stopped automatic shut off which is disappointing. It's easy to clean, just boil some water in it and then add half vinegar and any deposits go away. Heats up fast and pours easy. I also use it for getting the correct temperature water for sourdough. Not noisy to run.

Love this kettle! We were looking for a kettle that’s lead free, boils quickly, and looks nice. This ticks all the boxes! Plus, it’s fun watching the water boil in the kettle when it’s ready 😆

Worked great until switch went out. It has only been 4 months. Won’t purchase again. This is the second one.
