Toxicologists thoughts
I was a forensic toxicologist for 20 years and have had friends and coworker ask me about testing for THC over the past few years since it has been legalized in many states for recreational use (including my state). I handled R&D for SAMHSA/NIDA confirmatory testing by GC/MS, as well as initial screening by immunoassay using various instruments (Hitachi, Olympus, etc). Since these were FDA approved and to SAMHSA standards, they would more than likely perform as expected. In order to recommend quick test strip kits to people, I decided to try some kits. This product performed well in my testing. I used myself as a negative control and the expiration of the strips I received were in 2019. The result was correct with the THC patient line being the same density/color as the control. I then tested a known user at two stages. They were a light user so I tested 1 hour after use and the test was as expected, with a slight positive (faint line on the THC but less prominent than the control). At 1 hour I expected it to be either negative or slightly positive due to the cannabis metabolism rate (but it can vary depending on the individual). I also tested after about 8 hours and it was positive with no THC line and the control line was valid. I have read reviews that say their test did not match the result when sent in to a drug lab and I would warn people that this can be due to many factors and most do not relate to the strips. The ones which could be strip related are expiration, faulty storage, faulty manufacturing (it can happen with any lab test, including reagent based). The most likely cause, however, is that this is a urine test. Urine tests are notorious for being dependent on the concentration of the urine. If you test on a dilute urine and it is negative but then test on a more concentrated urine and it is positive, this is not an invalid result. The same goes for a concentrated urine coming up positive and another test being more dilute coming up negative. If you want to match test results, you would need to do blood tests or check specific gravity or creatinine levels for a THC/Creat ratio. Also you are comparing two different tests. One is based on a test strip and the other is based on an analyzer that used reagents and much better immunoassay techniques. With a strip (as in thin layer chromatography), the result is dependent on the person performing the test being able to distinguish colors and bands, variations in intensity/density, etc. These are also qualitative assays and a 50ng/mL cutoff will vary greatly above that limit. You may not be able to detect even over 100ng/mL by eyesight. Analyzers in a lab use photometers for detection. From what I have seen, I would place these up with any other well made test strip. I would just be sure to return any you get that are close to expiration, which will greatly deteriorate results and more than likely make them invalid. These would be of most use for testing kids or others where you want to know if they have been using cannabis as long as you know to use a concentrated urine (first void after waking works well). I would not use them during a period of fluid intake because that would defeat the purpose. You could also use this to get a ballpark figure of THC levels by serial diluting the urine and testing each dilution to see when it comes up negative. There is no way to know the actual level but if it takes many dilutions (like 1:20) you can be sure the level is fairly high and will take much longer to clear, even on a concentrated sample.

Accurate, Easy-to-use, Difficult to read
The test kit is very easy to use and much less expensive than professional testing, but the results can be difficult to read. I used the test to analyze my results and, once those results were negative – I verified the negative results with a professional lab test. In my case, after leaving my previous job I vacationed outside the US for 6 weeks and smoked high quality marijuana daily for the entire time. THC level was probably in the upper teens and I smoked between one to two grams daily. Upon returning to the states I started my self-detox, and did not smoke ANY marijuana. With local labs charging $100 per test, I ordered these self-testing kits to determine my own results before spending the money for a lab test. I assumed the THC would clear my system in about one month, and was very surprised at how long it remained detectable. Day 37 of being completely weed-free: Started testing, got Positive test result. Not surprised, but disappointed. Day 40: Positive Day 42: Positive Day 44: Positive At this point I wondered if the test was accurate and asked a friend (who has never smoked) to take the test. The resulting bold line was clearly and obviously negative. The test strips were accurate. Day 50: Positive: Day 56: NEGATIVE. Very faint line, it was hard to be certain it was negative. Day 57: Positive. Not even a faint line Day 58: NEGATIVE. Very faint line Day 59: NEGATIVE. Line was clearly evident Day 60: NEGATIVE. Very faint line Day 61: NEGATIVE. With 4 consecutive negatives I paid for professional lab testing, and received a NEGATIVE result Day 68: I had an employment screen, and the results were NEGATIVE I am very happy with how this test kit prepared me for my employment screen. It is possible that some of my positive results could have been interpreted as negative, and allowed me to take my employment screen sooner, but for my peace of mind I would rather be safe than sorry. If you just assume the THC will clear your system in a few weeks, you will probably fail your employment screen. I think this test kit is very helpful for people that want an economical method to check their system for THC. However, I think it you should also verify the results with a professional lab before an employment screen. The negative results shown on the test strip are difficult to read, and if you mistakenly read the results as negative you could face the consequences of a failed employment screen.

Pure Accuracy!!!
Worked like a charm!!!! I had to take a drug test for a railroad position. Even though I got the negative results, I didn't know if it would be accurate enough to pass DOT testing. Even though the line was faint, I passed with flying colors. I would definitely recommend this product for drug testing!!!!

Good product - only concern is that the negative indicator bar didn't show up as clearly as the positive indicator bar.
My boyfriend and I got these because we had to pass a drug test for a job. He hadn't smoked in months, and I hadn't smoked in a week. Using the test was incredibly easy and fast - it only takes 5 minutes for your results to show! The first time I took the test, I tested positive, which I expected, and the results were very clear. However when my boyfriend took it, he tested negative but the second bar that indicates it's negative was very faded so it was confusing for him. He followed the directions and checked the test after 5 minutes as instructed, and even checked again minutes later, and that second indicator was still very faded. We assumed it still meant negative because on my positive test the second bar didn't show up at all. On the day of my test, after chugging a calculated mix of creative, sugar, and b12, I tested negative on this test, except like my boyfriend the indicator for the negative was very faded and only looked like half a bar. This was very confusing for me, but I assumed it meant negative because when I tested positive I couldn't see the second bar at all. We both ended up passing our drug tests! So we're not sure if this test was faulty in displaying the negative results, or if it maybe traced very slight amount of THC in our system and that's why the negative indicator wasn't as clear as the positive one. So we assumed the test for ourselves looked negative, and we did end up testing negative, so I guess the products does work well, but I wish we could've gotten tests that had clearer results so we wouldn't have worried so much about how our actual drug tests would turn out. Also this is a GREAT deal for 10 drug tests. They're usually way more expensive in store.

Undetermined
My guess is many of you like me poured over reviews and on line articles about passing a pre-employment exam. Let me start by saying I don’t have confirmation of pass yet. Product review: Fast shipping, easy to use, in exspensive and hopefull of accuracy. I purchased these for piece of mind. I have been clean of substance for 31 days, I’m 5’4 and 185 (shut up I’m working on it) 44 years old and was a chronic user for longer than some of you have been alive. Last year I took a 4 month break in prep for a job change that didn’t require pre employment sample. Upon my return to recreational use I dropped back to 3-4 times a month. I should have just stopped all together after this last anxiety ridden month! Anyway I ordered these along with other mask detox products and have been testing at about day 21. All my tests have been negative. First morning, mid day, end of day. I asked two people to test sample for me. 1st tested positive at day 4 (maybe they work) 2nd testing negative at day 7. (Really?) I’m not sure of the overall accuracy but I can say that I did not use the detox mask after helpfull reviews and some insight of HR professionals that if your sample shows diluted that is the same as a positive to potential employers. I can also say that I should have used a substitute sample as the test environment would have allowed for that if I knew more. 4 minutes in a closed room fully clothed, no supervision...wish someone would have clued me in to that. I literally could have swapped out mine for a fun but clean friend. I also purchased 20ng strips and have been positive all along :( I think this will be end of my decade use of wacky tobacky. It’s not worth it. A premature review for bottom line results but I hope this helps someone.

They work GREAT
I have laughed reading some of the reviews about how parents should trust their kids. Well, I happen to be a parent with a kid who has proven to be very untrustworthy about certain things. We have rules- you fail a test, you lose priviliges. Driving is important enough to this kid that he has stopped the weed vapes. But it's only because of these tests. It was also really amazing how long the THC stayed in his system. No- I'm not naïve- he was practically under house arrest so didn't use anymore. I know the test says it doesn't matter how faint the second line is- it's a negative. But I did find, the longer the time since he had used weed, the darker that second line became. I figure these are like a reverse pregnancy test. LOL My son is finally testing with strong negatives but I have no illusions. If I hadn't been able to test for it- he would still be using weed vapes every chance he could. I also really like the nicotine and alcohol tests. I make them test first thing in the morning just like you would for a pregnancy test..it has worked really well. My kids who aren't into things they shouldn't be into don't mind testing because it further proves they are trustworthy and therefore get more freedom.

Great product
These are really accuand easy to use. If you get a really really faint line you ARE CLEAN. If you take this test first thing in the morning or after being semi dehydrated you will probably have an extremely faint line(if you are basically clean) however drink one glass of water and the line will become much more defined. Drink five glasses of water and the line should be pretty noticable. A person who has never smoked should have a very clear line and someone who is dirty should have no line. I bought these after about 3 days of being clean and I was getting faint lines immediately. For two weeks I had tested several times a day and gotten all faint lines or decent lines. I took a pre employment test at LabCorp and passed with (some) confidence thanks to these. Definitely buy these because they are affordable and trustworthy. Any bad reviews could have been a bad batch but I bought twice and was very satisfied. Buy more than you think you need and test your friends/tap water etc to get a feel for how the line should look. I bought a first check cup test at Walmart ($12 for one!) And the results were almost exactly the same (the cup test line was much much fainter so I would suggest buying one or two of those for a second opinion) Also the day of your test make sure you are not dehydrated. If you get a ghost line just try to give yourself more fluids and time. Don't drink too much water before your test or you will have to retake it. Like I said I was getting faint lines and still passed a lab test. Parents if your chigets a faint line don't say they 'barely passed" because some people are clean for 90+ days and still get a light line. Test yourself to compare if you want.

Comprehensive analysis why not to purchase these Cannabis testing strips
Test strips on Amazon Review This product and many like it used in doctors offices daily across the country and have an amazing amount of false positives and negatives. Physicians and employers know this. Hence typically used as the first line, fast indication of cannabis or other drug use (while you are in the office so you can pick up your monthly Rx) for chronic pain for example, it will be sent out to a lab for a much more extensive analysis with lower positive thresholds (20ng/ml vs. this product 50ng/ml), and conducted with advanced lab equipment that doesn’t give false positives or negatives. Your physician in this example is covering his a*# to ensure your compliant with your pain contract for litigious reasons, monitor any drugs or meds that could kill you and follow state and federal compliance laws. They want to make sure that you are taking the medications that they are prescribing and not diverting (selling it to anyone else). They will also include alcohol (which by the way has a 5 day detection time from last consumption) via the lab equipment mentioned below. The urine sample will be analyzed through a highly specific/sensitive lab equipment called Gas Chromatography (GC)/Mass Spectrometry (MS) which is 100% accurate. It actually measures even levels of cannabis, prescribed medications, alcohol, illicit drugs etc. and physicians know exactly what the levels should look like for the amount of medication they are giving you. They are looking for your compliance and not diversion, hoarding, or doctor shopping. Additionally, as previously mentioned, GS/MS have a much lower positive threshold for cannabis than urine sticks at 20ng/ml in urine vs. 50ng/ml for stick with THC metabolites specifically. The manufacturer claims a 99.9% sensitivity and specificity for THC. They are dead ass wrong! You will get false positives and negatives. I have researched this extensively and written about it for patient education in a national cannabis publication and teach medical professionals living in the state first to legalize cannabis. If your a pain patient trying to reduce your medication intake via use with cannabis, be sure before you do you discuss this prior with your physician. If you have cancer because of the other benefits like nausea and appetite suppression, they might allow it but you need an open and honest dialog before they start prescribing controlled pharmaceuticals. Esp. if you live in a strict state with either no medical or legal protections in place. If you breach your pain contract and are caught without a prior discussion at your first visit before you sign that contract, you will be dismissed from his/her practice and your chance of finding another creditable physician or psychiatrist (stimulants also schedule II drugs) is basically fruitless since they will want to see your previous prescribing physicians chart notes. This is esp. true in today’s political climate regarding the so called opioid epidemic. What the news doesn’t say is the majority of these deaths are the result of heroin, methadone, and benzodiazepines mixed many times with other illegal drugs. 28 people a day die nation wide. Vets. are often prescribed pain meds along with many other psychotropic drugs for PTSD or battle injuries for example. Sadly since they get their healthcare through the VA hospitals which are federal institutions that still believe cannabis has no medicinal value and scheduled I like other illegal drugs, you will likely loose your medical benefits so be vigilant. It’s sad, esp. with the promising research and anecdotal stories of so many veterans being helped by cannabis with crippling PTSD or other conditions. Similar would be various forms of severe epilepsy, esp. in children. Since pills are much harder and more expensive (than heroin for example) to get now vs. in the 90’s and 2000 due to unscrupulous Pharmaceutical companies promoting OxyContin for acute low back pain like Purdue Pharma (which is currently being sued by numerous states and have already paid the federal government over $600M in fines for off-label promotion), people are using the harder drugs that are much cheaper and easier to attain. That is the “opioid crisis” in America along with Methadone clinics and cheap Fentinal coming from China mixed typically with heroin killing people. Fentinal is 50 to 100% more potent than morphine hence people OD not knowing what they are injecting. Drug dealers mix it for a “better high” w/ heroin addicts to increase their margins and make opioid tolerant addicts get as high as possible. Given to an unsuspecting customer that is opioid naive (low tolerance) they have a cardio-respiratory failure and never wake up. Many celebrities are typically featured by media outlets when this happens but it could be anyone and crosses socioeconomic boundaries. The government also watches physicians prescribing (# of controlled substances they are writing vs. their peers in their specialty). If it’s too high, they get audited by DEA, loose their license and go to jail if their isn’t proper patient documentation. Guilty until proven innocent esp. if they are prescribing pain meds with benzodiazepines since they are typically mixed with alcohol and cannabis. All cardio respiratory depressants. Everything is monitored now through state wide controlled substances databases that any healthcare provider can access, nurses, physicians, your pharmacist, etc. They are always monitoring before your appt., while the script is being filled, etc. Additionally stay away from signing up for state wide medical cannabis databases. You never know how that I formation can be used against you until the federal government reschedules cannabis. esp. if you enjoy your 2nd amendment rights. The tax breaks in OR, CO, WA, CA, AK are not worth it. Disclaimers: This advice does not serve as medical advice or instructions, just a summary of many years of research and my own personal experience with these testing strips on Amazon or through your local drugstore. Always discuss your use of cannabis with your physician and be proactive vs reactive or you might find yourself in many of the scenarios mentioned above. Bottom line...save your money on these worthless testing strips. All they will do is give you either a false sense of security or create tremendous anxiety. Peace and good health!
