This product is compatible to the UK standard, the additional adapter is not for the UK, it is for the EU, but new orders will not included.

My bubble machine does not lock properly, and does not stay locked when cooking is this meant happen during cooking?

When you put in your batter and close the lid you wait a minute while it cooks and then flip the machine. You can then hold it closed with your hand for a moment as it shifts to the other side. Locking it won’t give you very fluffy bubbles as they need to be able to rise.
