Great performance in a small package
I installed these under bumper on my motorhome for additional light immediately in front of my vehicle. Easy to install and excellent light pattern lights the area in front and well out to the edges of the road without blinding other drivers. Hella can't be beat!

Great for the application
These are awesome lights for their intended application, which is FOG lights. They are not DRIVING lights, Hella makes driving lights as well, if you want extreme light at long distances. These fog lights are intended to fill the near field, and after experimenting with several models (Hella FF50, PIAA, LED bars, etc), I found these Hella's to be the best at coverage. They produce a very uniform pattern, without blinding anyone (unless you aim them too high). I sort of agree with others who said the light output is mediocre. To address that I added an HID kit to these lights, and the light output is phenomenal. I would consider it comparable to the newer Benzes and BMWs. The Audi and Acura LEDs are better, and so are the Teslas, but that's some upscale company. For the $$$, these lights are great. And I do recommend an HID kit to boost light output.

You get what you pay for - AND THESE ARE GREAT!
First, these are very well-made FOG lights. They are designed to provide a flat, wide beam with a sharp cutoff to prevent glare from reflecting back to the driver off fog, snow and rain. The lense/reflector combination on these lights does that exceptionally well. However, as has been mentioned by other reviewers, their light output is somewhat disappointing due to the fact that they a powered by halogen bulbs. For most applications that would be adequate but, because I drive 250-275 miles 5 nights per week, I was looking for more output. I replaced the stock bulbs with a high-output HID setup. This required making up my own wiring harness and adding a remote switch. The result is a very bright, flat beam which not only illuminates the area well beyond the shoulders of the road, but also extends beyond the reach of my low beam headlights to improve my range of vision - all without annoying oncoming drivers. Because of how I installed these lights I wasn't concerned about the wiring, etc. that was supplied, but be advised that this is not a simple "plug-and-play" kit. Everything you will need for the typical installations is supplied to include a length of proper wire, connectors, a relay, a switch and instructions, but the buyer must make up his own wiring harness and assemble the lights. If you are at all familiar with wiring and the use of basic tools this won't be a problem as everything is there, Overall, I'm very happy with my installation and the quality and performance of these lights is first-class. I gave them 4 stars because of the DIY aspect of the wiring harness.

Looks cool, but good luck installing it yourself
The glass lens is very easy to break, and the protector things you can buy separately are extremely expensive. There isn't much help regarding the wiring. Mine works, kind of. Haven't figured out how to get the switch working, it just turns on when the lights turn on, even though I thought I deciphered the horribly executed diagram properly. If I ever figure it out, I'll update this post.

Honda Pilot
Installed these last summer. The fog lights do a great job of lighting the road and ditches. I have them mounted on a 2004 Honda Pilot in the middle grill. They throw the same light as the low beams. If you toggle between them, there is not much difference. The fog lights might be a little wider light. In my Pilot, when I switch to high beams, the low beams shut off....leaving the ditches less covered. These lights keep that area filled in. They are also nice in snow storms as they do not shine up as high like the low beams...blinding you less.

Great lights. No nonsensical LED trickery.
Very good. Bright and crystal clear. Requires COMPLETE assembly, which I like but some may not.

Very poor lighting
As I live in the north-eastern state, I wanted additional lighting for better visibility in snow & wild animal avoidance. The housing is made of plastic resin, which actually helps where they spray salt on snowy roads. Unlike the FF50, these pairs do not cast much light (probably poorly designed reflector). One reviewer noted to use a candle, and I have to agree. I would have to change the bulb to something different. P.S: For chipping protection I use 3M's protective films rather than Hella's pricey OEM covers.
