La sabbia non passa. Come descritto dal produttore ci puoi buttare sopra un mucchio di sabbia e con pochi colpi di mano questa passa sotto e sparisce. Simon

I saw a demonstration video of this mat online and was impressed by the way sand falls through the mesh and doesn't come back up. I purchased this for friends of mine who like to frequent the beach, but the sand can aggravate their children's sensitive skin. I thought the mat would give a reprieve and refuge from the sand when being dusted down. Not only that, but it meant the kids had a sand-free place to eat, which meant their sandwiches were sand-free. I was a little skeptical, but I purchased it in the hope that the videos were true. My friends tried it immediately and were so pleased with the fact that it did what it said it would. I also tried it and was impressed with it. I purchased the orange one which was an advantage on a busy beach as the colour and size of it was easily spotted from a distance. It is worth noting that it only sieves dry sand. Wet sand will get stuck in the mesh until it dries. As it happens, it was designed for helicopters landing in the dessert on dry sand. That being said, on a warm day, wet sand dries quickly and as soon as it is dry, it falls through the mesh with ease. It is a pricey bit of kit but it is intricately made, does what it says it will do, is a generous size and comes with rings to hold it down with pegs.

First things first: I now have purchased FOUR of these, because after 6 months of use I find that they actually work better than advertised. Disclaimer: I don’t live anywhere near a beach, and have never used one on a beach, but for the desert Southwest they are damn near perfect. To begin with, the sand goes away, as advertised. I use these outside the tent and you can take off your shoes, wipe off your feet, and walk on in, sand free. Works SOOOO well, it’s like magic! Secondly, and this is the “better than advertised” part, these things DO NOT catch the wind! At ALL! Camping in the Maze (muddle-of-nowhere Utah) the wind flattened 3 tents but the sand mat didn’t even move. And it was NOT staked down! There ARE grommets to stake the things down, but as they just shrug off the wind I’m not sure why you would bother. Must be part of the being designed to land helicopters on, but the “ignores wind” feature should be their major selling point, but is unmentioned in the copy. Like I said, I bought four, have used them basically every weekend for 6 months, and think that they are the bees knees. If you are reading this, that means you are thinking about buying one, so do it. The only thing you need to figure out is what size you are purchasing.

I do a lot of multi day river trips and other camping. This is an indispensable item whether I pitch my tent or sleep under the stars.

I bought one of these to use at my family's beach house in the Outer Banks. We have another giant blanket but get so tired of sand getting all over it, so I bought this one to have as well. I bought the 8x8 and it's a great size for a few people - We just tested it out 2 weeks ago and it was fantastic! We had 3 adults and a kid, 3 different sized beach chairs and our beach bags and there was plenty of room for all of us. The sand really does go right through it, although FYI it's a little less instant when the sand is wet, which is understandable! No need to even hose it off! There are also rings around the edges to tack it down if you need to. With all the stuff we had on it we didn't need that, but at least it's an option! It's a bit bulky to carry, but we didn't mind as we'll have a bag big enough next year to carry it in, and we're excited to use it next summer and for years to come!
