Reviewing: BAILINHOU Chinese hot pot soup base 17.63 oz (500g), Sichuan hotpot broth sauce spicy Seasoning from szechuan, China The package contains a sealed block which is the soup base, and 10 chili dipping powder packets. The soup base contained real, identifiable ingredients like peppers and bay leaves. I made this without adding the suggested ingredients as I was dining with someone who likes mild flavors. The flavor was good and had nice spice without being too hot. The dipping powder was spicier and an interesting change. Most places serve sauces not powders for dipping. We made this in a fondu pot and it worked great. Taro, mushrooms, sliced beef and lamb, baby octopus, shrimp and oysters found their way into our hot pot and it was very tasty. Will definitely be trying this again and have a better idea of additional spices to try this time. Dipping sauces make the hot pot!

I prefer this taste, but the portion is relatively small.

Other than the hot chili packets, the entire box is mostly a brick of soup base with embedded spices and leaves. (Actually, without looking at the ingredient list, they look like bay leaves). It's quite large and sufficient to feed quite a few people, so get a hot pot, a huge number of ingredients, and have a party. I have no complaints.

I take my collagen daily in broth to hide the flavor. Yuck I hate the taste of the collagen. This hot pot seasoning gives me a nice variation in the flavor of my broth. Having the same flavor every day gets so boring. I love this hot spiciness of this and it is just full of different herbs and spices that have a high ORAC score that it makes my broth/collagen mix even healthier. I plan to try making some sauces with this for my veggies and use it in stir fries.

Arrived today with the seal broken. We prepped for this meal the past few days and planned it for tonight after this package arrived but it was not sealed.

Way to hot for me but some people liked it. Suggest using it in small portions and adjust after tasting.

Single use box. It's one large brick of base for a family style meal with anything you want. Plenty of chili spice pouches to go around. The flavor was awesome and we enjoyed having a hot pot night with the kids for cheap.

The flavor of this soup base is very spicy and flavorful. It reminded me of the hotpot I had at a restaurant.
