The validity of the retransfer film is only as good as the product manufacturing date. These films are date sensitive, like picking a jug of milk from a grocery store shelf - so you want the newest, freshest date. The older the date, the less the film performs. However, there is no way to see the date on the package before you purchase it from Amazon. So you are at the mercy of whatever company Amazon directs your purchase to. Best to go directly to the manufacturer and talk with a real person and make them guarantee the date of the product before you purchase it.

OEM product of the highest quality - I would expect no less from HID

This is not a good product. The film rarely transfers or covers a card properly. You may have to print 9 times for 1 to transfer properly.
