I try to keep some food on hand that I can eat incase the electric goes off or we go camping. This is very tasty and we have enjoyed it.

Well I didn't need them yet I'm going to use them for emergencies only but it was well packaged

These are tried and true. Went to the lake for a 1 night campout accessible only by boat and they were a huge hit. Will buy again. They are easy to cook and delicious. Also took some on a 72 mile Canadian canoeing trip. Someone brought readywise. We brought these. 6 nights later, there were only readywise options left. Mountain house won every night, no contest.

I’ve been using freeze dried meals from Mountain House and Backpacker’s pantry on the trail for years. I have always used one bag for my “big” meal of the day. Needless to say that for a long time I would tell people that these meal bags were only to be eaten if you’re really hungry. They just didn’t taste great otherwise. I must say that Mountain House has stepped up their game. The old version of chicken and rice was very “meh” to me. This latest package was quite good even by regular food standards. My super picky 7 year old son ate it right up. Thank goodness too because I’m about to start taking him hiking and I had no clue what I was gonna bring for food with him on the trail. Turns out I’m gonna bring my usual stuff! Whew!
