My 8-year-old granddaughter AND her parents were thrilled with this birthday gift. Apparently, her consumption of self-cut fresh fruits & veggies has soared since she received this in her favorite color pink. My son & I are the family "foodies" & he was very happy for her to have a safe yet fully functional cutting implement to learn & practice with before graduating her to sharper household knives. We don't consider it really a "toddler" knife, however. For her toddler sister (age 2) I got a Montessori "knife" which is a thin, wedge-shaped piece of smooth wood with a gripping handle that can "cut" soft fruit like bananas & peeled+cored apples & serve as a "gateway knife" before she graduates to big sister's knife. This is a gift that will keep on giving and entertaining for a LONG time!

This set of knives is absolutely great for encouraging your children to help prepare meals.My granddaughter often asks me what she can do to help, but I won't let her use my chef's knives for obvious reasons. This set of knives is ideal as they are child-sized knives.She didn't find them easy to use at first but soon got used to them and she can cut carrots just fine when I ask her to.The quality of the knives in this set is also very good so I'm happy to recommend them!

Finger hole is nice to help them grip and keep finker away from the blade. Blade could be sharper, carrots and potatoes are tough to cut but other veggies so far have been great.

I always try to involve my kids in kitchen preparations and this knife is perfect for them! They easily cut fruits and veggies with it and I’m not too scared about them cutting their fingers. I can teach them proper knife technique and they enjoy helping me prepare dinner.10/10 recommend. My kids are 5 and 3

These weren’t as useful as I thought and hoped it would be. The finger protective gadget is hard to use for my five-year-old knife quality is OK. The knife is useful. I think it’s just the protective grip. I was hoping it would work better.

The finger guard was a bit too big for my 4 year old but he worked the knife like a pro ..

My two year old loves to help in the kitchen. Although he still needs supervision, it has worked pretty well.
