You get an actual BANG for your Buck!
I recently purchased the PALONE Solar Bug Zapper, and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations in every way. If you're seeking an effective and eco-friendly solution to rid your outdoor space of pesky insects, this bug zapper is the perfect choice. The most impressive feature of this device is its 4500V electric mosquito zapping power. It truly lives up to its promise of eliminating mosquitoes, flies, gnats, and moths with ease. I have used various bug zappers in the past, but this one stands out with its remarkable performance. Here are some key aspects that make the PALONE Solar Bug Zapper outstanding: 1. Solar Panel & Type-C Cable: The inclusion of a solar panel is a game-changer. It harnesses the power of the sun during the day, ensuring the bug zapper can function continuously at night. This eco-friendly approach not only saves on electricity but also reduces your carbon footprint. Plus, the added bonus of a Type-C cable allows you to recharge it during cloudy days or for indoor use. 2. UV Light Attraction: The UV light on this bug zapper is incredibly effective at luring insects. It not only attracts mosquitoes but also draws in flies, gnats, and moths, making it an all-around solution for various annoying insects. The range and intensity of the UV light are perfectly calibrated to ensure insects are attracted from a considerable distance. 3. Indoor and Outdoor Use: This bug zapper is versatile, and you can use it both indoors and outdoors. Whether you're trying to enjoy a bug-free evening on your patio or simply want to protect your living spaces from flying nuisances, it works exceptionally well. 4. Rechargeable Battery: The built-in rechargeable battery provides uninterrupted performance. Even during cloudy days or in areas with limited sun exposure, you can continue using this bug zapper without interruption. 5. Easy to Clean: Maintenance is a breeze. The removable tray at the bottom makes it easy to dispose of dead insects. Simply empty it, and your bug zapper is ready to go again. In conclusion, the PALONE Solar Bug Zapper is a brilliant investment for anyone looking to keep their outdoor or indoor spaces bug-free. The combination of powerful bug-zapping capability, a solar panel, and a rechargeable battery make it an efficient and eco-friendly choice. Say goodbye to pesky insects and hello to bug-free bliss! I highly recommend this product to anyone in need of a reliable bug zapper.

Get it! It charges & POPS bugs!
This zapper is great! Started popping them bugs the second it came on. You can definitely hear it, its so satisfying. We live out in the country and by a pond where flying insects are a nuisance. My last plug in zapper went out and im trying this product because its cordless. I dont have to deal with an extension cord and the product works all night! I cut out some pieces of the plastic guards so that more bugs or bigger bugs can enter the party zone. Im hoping there will be a future model that will be bigger, brighter, and better because i will definitely buy more. Im also hoping it will last a least a couple years. If your looking for a simple way to mount, consider a shepherds pole.

Zippy zap - would buy again in a flash
We planned to host a campout for our son's birthday, and the mosquitoes have been intense this summer. Since there was no way to get electricity out to the part of our property they set up the tent, we needed to explore solar options. We were skeptical at first this bug zapper would hold a charge for very long, but after a month and a half of use, we are still having great results. We don't delight in killing things for sure, but the biting flies and mosquitoes put a damper on playing outside and this is a far better option to dumping a bunch of chemicals in our forest. Hearing the snaps start happening at dusk usually sends contented giggles around the room. We have been happy to see there haven't been things like fireflies in the trap, and honestly the only thing that's been a little bit of a chore has been the need to clean out the dead bugs, but I guess that just means it's doing it's job well. That process is pretty simple too, just gross. As for the battery life while running on day time mode, we've only used it at that setting a couple of times so we can't verify how long the battery last there. We don't think it will be a problem, but you'll have to try it for yourself. We anticipate purchasing two more to put at the other side of our yard now that we know how well the battery keeps a charge. Hope this helps in your decision making process.

Worth it so far
Perfect for placing around my garden and backyard; saving my plants and myself! The solar panels work exceptionally well and the zappers last throughout the entire night. Just to note, you have to be a little handy with tools and/or have to purchase separate supports for both the zapper and the panel. My only gripe is that there is no hook for the zapper and no bracket for the panel. I had to create make shift wood frames or exterior screw holds at each corner to fasten the solar panels to something. So far I have had them over 2 weeks. Nothing bad to note about the durability and brightness so far. I ordered 3. They have weathered multiple rain storms and are still working fine. They seem to be worth the money. They were absolutely covered in bugs within the first few hours.

Stopped working at 6 months
It worked great for about 6 months and then has stopped working completely. Both with the solar and charging it with the cord. Does not work at all anymore. Do not recommend.

Seems to work ok. Time will tell.
Welcome to my review of the PALONE Solar Bug Zapper. First Impressions Out of the Box: This zapper isn’t as big as a traditional bug zapper and it’s much lighter too. Could be a good thing…could be a not-so-good thing. Light is nice for portability, but doesn’t instill confidence in the durability. Build quality: The lightweight stature of this zapper gives me some concern that it may not survive a windy day. The plastic frame feels sturdy enough but again, pretty lightweight. The bug tray in the bottom is difficult to remove but it will come off. The solar panel feels good in the hand. I was excited for this feature, but was a little put off by what I found. The listing shows it with premade mounting holes. I had a plan in place to rig a metal rack to the side of my shed. Mine did not have holes in it so I had to go back to the drawing board. I took a gamble and adhered magnets to the back of it with heavy duty hot glue and stuck it to my metal roof. I feared the glue may damage the solar cells but solar charging does work. So that’s a plus and a nice segway into the next category… Device Performance: The zapper turned on out of the box. It has an intensity that is less than your standard 110V zapper, but it does attract bugs. No sooner had I sat it out to test in the first night, mosquitoes, small moths and other small insects started popping like firecrackers. I’d say it was attracting one every 30-45 seconds or so. Aside from the popping sound, the unit doesn’t make any obnoxious humming sounds or anything. So that’s nice! It also survived a couple of rainy days, one with a LOT of rain (not much wind though). So the IP Rating seems to be holding up. I am concerned for a stormy rain with lots of wind, that the metal loop on top will be the first piece to give out. Or it gets overwhelmed by the rain blowing in sideways and shorts it out. But those are hypotheticals. So far so good. I also wish there would’ve been some extra protection on the toggle switch and USB-C charge port, like silicone covers. Just for some peace of mind. Battery Performance: When this device first arrived it did have charge in the battery, but weather was pretty severe. I didn’t want to risk not being able to properly test this zapper so I didn’t install it right away. I wanted a good base line for overall performance. I went ahead and charged this device overnight with its USB-C port (a fantastic feature!) to make sure it was full and then it sat until weather cleared; around three days. The first clear night it lasted from 7:30PM until around 2:30AM. Around 7 hours of activity. Not too bad! The following night, I hooked up the solar panel to let it recharge. That day was partly cloudy to sun was there but hit and miss. The device turned itself on when it got dark enough (around 8:30PM) and lasted until around 4:00AM. That’s 7.5 hours. A nice upward trend. The following night, I installed the zapper and solar panel (with magnets) where I wanted it “permanently” located in my yard and since then, it has lasted all the way through the night and shuts itself off when the sun comes up. That’s fantastic performance if you ask me. Maybe if we had more bugs, the added load would use up the battery but it zaps bugs all night so I’m happy overall! Other features: The fact that this unit runs off of a rechargeable battery AND can recharge using solar means you can take this with you camping or wherever and not have to worry about usikg or even finding a power source! There is also a “brush” built into this device that slides up and down the contacts that will knock off any stuck bug debris, so you don’t have to scrub the metal contacts and risk damaging them. Just make sure the power is off! Overall impression: It’s not quite the irresistible bug magnet, but it does attract them and you hear the satisfying *pops* of mosquitoes throughout the night. Value for the money: I think this was a good purchase, though if it were a tad brighter, it would attract more bugs. That would affect daily battery performance so I suppose that’s the trade off. Final thoughts: Overall, I’m happy. I hope this device outperforms any of my concerns and serves my family for more than one season. If you have a mild to moderate mosquito problem, then this zapper may be a good fit. If we had a moderate to severe mosquito problem then I doubt this zapper would be up to the task. I gave this device three stars not because it’s not a five star product. I think if the plastic frame had just a tad bit more density to it or felt just a bit sturdier; and had the solar panel had those mounting holes; AND added protection for the weak links (charge port and switch) been included, it could’ve been easily a four/five star review.
