Great device and accurate readings
I bought this for my cabin after a power outage and nearly freeing mu hot tub, the spa company quoted me $1500 for a remote add on. The system was easy to setup with WiFi and worked like a charm. Instructions on the app had a step by step instruction. I got confused if the reader can be submerged which I figured yes after watching you tube video. The reading is very accurate and amazingly scientific. The ph reading is very close to the strip and temp is correct. For Chlorine the device uses ORP which is the oxygenation level and I see changes instantly when I add chlorine or add pH adjusted. Well spent 500 box for ease of mind for remote monitoring!

Measurements completely off destroying your equipment
These are huge product failures! They shoul not be on the market. There readings are completely off for PH, ORP, destroying your equipment immediately. Customer support is in denial. I used other ways to measure and create official water reports. Instead of ph 7.5 this monitor shows 9. When it shows 7.4 actual ph is 6 and destroys your heater. These guys need to be banned and have a class action suit against them for property damage. Customer support continues saying is nothing wrong with the product. Failure!!!

Excellent Tool for Hassle-Free Pool Maintenance
I’ve been really impressed with the Crystal Smart Water Monitor. Setup was super easy and only took about 10 minutes from unboxing to getting it in the water. The instructions were clear, and the app connected without any issues. I appreciated how smooth the process was right from the start. The app itself is very intuitive and has already made a big difference in how I manage my pool. After opening for the season, I was able to get my water balanced quickly — much faster than in past years. I used to spend a lot of time guessing and testing, but now the monitor gives me real-time updates and actionable recommendations. One of the most helpful features is the chemical dosing calculator. Based on the size of my pool, the app tells me exactly how much of each chemical to add. This takes the guesswork out of pool care and makes shopping for chemicals way easier. I no longer overbuy or underdose. Overall, this monitor has taken the stress out of pool maintenance. It’s reliable, easy to use, and saves me both time and money. I highly recommend it to any pool owner looking to simplify their routine.

Do not buy
I bought this monitor to take the guess work out of adding chemicals to my pool. It stated it monitors pool chemicals and will tell you when and what to add. Well that is not true, it requires you to use a test strip and then scan it with the app. The scan on the app is flakey at best and does not work most of the time. That leaves you with what the monitor actually tests. It test ORP and PH, that is it, nothing more. Everything else is done by the test strip. Why would I buy this just to do manual testing? Most pool chemical manufacturers have their own app that will scan the test strip and tell you to do as well, and they are free. To make things even worse, I had this for 3 days and it stopped working. 3 days!. How can a $478 after taxes device break after 3 days? I will leave you with this, do not buy this product, just find a chemical manufacture you like and use their app. Stay far away from this device.

Pool testing made convenient
Great piece of equipment to help simplify pool testing. We were paying a company to manage our pool chemicals. After our pool turned green fired the company and bought the crystal. It took a few weeks of adding chemicals but made the process much less difficult and removed the guessing. Only down side is still needing to use test straps. It does offer a convenient picture feature as part of the app to help read the strips but would be nice if the device would just read all the chemicals.

It works perfectly for me!!!
I’m baffled by the 3.8 rating for this pool tester! Let me explain. I bought umbrellas for my first pool on Amazon, thrilled about the purchase. After two years of use, I noticed yellow stains in the pool, assuming it was algae. I shocked the pool overnight, but the stains remained. A water sample at Leslie’s Pool Supply revealed the issue: metal in the water, causing rust, not algae. I drained the chlorine and did an ascorbic acid cleanse, which cleared the rust. But then, within four days, the water turned cloudy, greenish, and sudsy, like dish soap was added. For weeks, I went back and forth to Leslie’s, getting tests and printouts, but the pool kept getting worse. Frustrated with wasting time and money, I found this tester, and it’s been a game-changer. It showed that the chemicals from Leslie’s were clashing, throwing off the pool’s balance. The tester provided precise chemical measurements based on my pool’s water capacity, helping me understand exactly what was needed and when. I’m sold and highly recommend this tester to anyone!

Not very accurate and poor support!!
After installing this and letting it run for 24 hours I noticed that the temperature was reading 2.5 degrees high, pH was 0.9 high and the ORP was close to 100mv high. I realize this is not a big deal in a pool, but in a hot tub these values are a bit too far off. Example, when you have your tub set at 102 and you keep getting high temperature warnings (from the app) for being over 104 it's kind of annoying. I contacted Crystal support and they said this was "within the accepted variances for water chemistry testing methods". Yes, that was their response. He also stated that this unit is not designed to give real time data but rather it provides an average over a 24 hour period. Even after 48 hours of use, all readings are still high. Needless to say this unit was returned. If they gave us a way to calibrate the sensors they would have a great product. If they also had an option for viewing real time values or even an average over an hour it would be even better.
