Orbit 21027 B-hyve Gen 2 Wi-Fi Hub, Gray

I had 2 4-Outlet B-Hyve XD timers, they work good, but the bluetooth connection was a little cumbersome. I also like the idea of having control away from home. I received the hub, it was easy to setup. The app froze during setup and I thought I was going to have to start the setup over but it was fine. The hub connected immediately to my timers. I haven't tried the setup away from home yet, and with it being January I haven't used it to water anything but I expect the timers to function properly.

Best buy I ever made! The $30 price tag kept me from originally buying. But glad I payed too much for them because of the convenience of setup, testing, automatic watering hold when rain is forecast. It works great! Easy to connect, and not too big.

'Excellent product. Allows you to operate your watering system from afar because it uses WIFI. It allows you more versatility while programming your irrigation system. You plug it in to an electric outlet inside nearest your timer and then you can that timer from anywhere. Takes all the guess work out of planning and scheduling your watering

If you want to use your B-Hyve system with your smart home and other smart weather features, then you need this. Its easily concealed due it its small size, and it doesn't block the other outlet like some electronics do. I took one star away because I actually had to buy two of them to get coverage from my b-hyve smart controls in the front yard and in the backyard. Trying to put this in the middle of my house to hopefully get reception to all devices didn't work. The price is reasonable, this wasn't a huge deal. They should provide some additional documentation on range limits and how many walls/materials you need the WIFI to manage.

Definitely an upgrade. I have the six station controller for the zones close to the house and used a four zone hose timer on the back lot to control those sprinkler zones. This made it much easier. Now I can water my lawn from anywhere.

If you stay under the parameters specified in the manual you won’t have problems with the strength of the signal or losing connection. That has been the only problem I’ve had with this device but it was truly my fault as I was trying to put it a little farther then it needed it to be. It is very compact and light weight and yet made of a sturdy plastic like material. I’ve had it for 2 years now, the first year I used it from inside but the second year I used it outside (keep it in a safe place away from water and little hands) and I was able to reduce distance between hub and the devices which mean a faster and more reliable connection. The installation is very easy and straightforward.

Use w orbit timer and they connected easily. Plug this in room next to where the timer is outside. Can remotely water from anywhere using phone app.
